Post Trading in my babies!

If you're looking for a decent deal on a nice Porsche, here is my situation:

I'm probably going to trade in all 3 of my cars in the next couple of weeks. I've gotten a little(READ: LOT) obsessive about my car trading and I promised my wife that I was done, so I'm going to by a truck and be done with Porsches. Could very well be saving my marriage! Anyway, you know I'll be getting quite a ripping from a Ford dealership when I take 2 P-cars and a BMW up there to trade-in, so I'll offer them up, to anyone interested. I'll be completely honest about what they are, and I'm not trying to get more $$$ out of them or anything. Truth is, I really love these cars (too much) and I'd rather an enthusiast get them than a Ford dealership!

1. 1989 Porsche 911 C4 coupe. Black/black, 112k miles, original paint, excellent interior, really a nice car, rock chips and a small crack in front lower valance, a/c not blowing cold (needs new cooling fan, compressor is ok), Nice Rockford Fosgate CD player, C2 cups with new tires, chip and rear muffler removed (sounds great, but I don't know about smog, we don't have to pass smog in Arkansas) This is the nicest car of the three.

2. 1987 Porsche 944 turbo. Black/black, 62k miles, has some paint work, but looks good, nice interior, 1 small door ding, a/c works great, original radio (but I hooked it up wrong and it isn't working, I have a spare Ill include) 993 cups with weak tires, Otherwis, bone stock, has original clutch, so plan on replacing it soon (feels fine now), overall a nice car, but I've seen nicer (seen a lot worse, too)

3. 1995 BMW 325i Convertible. Black/tan, 84k miles, never wrecked, but I had repainted 3 months ago due to scratches and dings, everything works great, bone stock, tuning fork wheels, auto, nice car.

I'll listen to offers on all of these, and I'm not trying to make any $$$ (I know thats hard to beleive, but I promise, it's true!) I've had about 25 Porsches in the last 4 years and I've gotten completely stupid about them, putting them before everything else. Make me an offer or I'll let you have any of them for whatever the dealer offers me. Email me and I'll answer any and all questions. This is not a happy post for me and if John D. chooses to delete it, I understand. I know I sound like a scammer or something, but I swear I'm a for real guy. I'll even let you talk to my wife (though I wouldn't advise it!) Anyway, drop me an email if interested and I'm sure I'll be here reading the board forever, even if I don't have a Porsche!!!

P.S. I'm posting this in several lounges, so if you need to delete any or all of them I understand, this is not the classifieds and this will be the last post like this I'll make.

Paul,

After purchasing your LBE from you, this is a sad post to hear. I can tell you you aren't the only one that has been unheathily obsessed over these cars, I have/had the Porsche bug pretty bad in this past year.

I'm sure you could get enough money for the truck if you only sold 2 of your cars, you can't even keep one of them?

I've been without my P-car for almost a month now, (Jeez, these cars are really like a drug...) and time away from the car really does seem to help get me to realize theres more to life than Porsches.

Anyway enough of my advice, I'm sure you've gone over all this with yourself and with her. It's sad to see you go, but it really only is a car.

Good luck! <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

This was my advice to a friend's wife when he recently took early retirement from the financial services sector at age 45 to pursue a new career in design.... let the guy buy a car he can diddle with, or else he'll have too much time on his hands and he'll look for SOMEONE to diddle with...... wives should figure out that guys with P-cars have no time left for other women..... keep a P-car - that way everyone is happy.....

I am soryy tohear that. Keep one Porsche at least. Otherwise you will regret it and blame your wife. I spend a lot of money on 2 older Ferrari which I am selling now (one already is) and I bought those cars against my wifes will. Not a good idea.

But she should also respect you and let you keep one Porsche. Spend the money you get in counselling sessions, there are always 2 people in that game, just giving up on your side won't solve things.

I was aking $11,900 for the 951. I'll listen to ALL offers now.
As far as keeping one, if I weren't completely idiotic about it, I would. I think I am definately the one with the problem. As soon as I buy a car, it is for sale. I'm on the internet about 3 hours a day, looking for my next Porsche. I think I'm just a Porsche-aholic. If I would buy one and keep it, all would be well, but I just can't seem to do that. The longest I've ever kept a car is 8 months, and I had 2 or 3 spares changing hands during that time! The first step is admitting you have a problem, you know?

Thanks guys!

Paul

How much for the C4? I'm not familiar with the 89's, does it have a 3.2 or 3.6 motor?

Be sure to replace those Altezza taillights on your new Lightning with the standard truck taillights.

Congratulations on selling the 951. I just wish I could sell mine.. I've got it in the paper now and I've had some calls from people seeing the sign on it, but local people just don't get Porsches and don't see why an 86 year-model car can bring more than a few thousand dollars. I'm closing on my first house at the end of the month and am going to be struggling if I don't sell this car without giving it away. This was my first porsche and I definately already have the bug at age 21. I have already called and test drove a 968 even though I can't buy one until next year after getting settled in the house.

To the one who said there is more to life than Porsches, I have to say, it is sure hard to see that once owning one!

My friends just don't understand!

Pig4Bill,

The '89 C4 has the 3.6, it is the same car as the '90 minus air bags. As far as my asking price, who cares??? I'm telling you, make me an offer! If I can afford it, I will take it. If I cannot, I won't. I won't get my feelings hurt on a low-ball offer, this ain't about money, so email me, man!!!
