Default oil pan gasket retainer

Anyone have some suggestions on the best place to pick one of these up for a reasonable price? Tried ordering one from lindsey but was told they discontinued it due to quality control issues.

How big of a problem are oil pan gaskets bulging out?

thanks... any other sources? paragon's version is over twice the price of what lindsey was asking, seems a bit high for a couple brackets.

Get a two-piece crossover from Lindsey "WYIT". If I even end up doing mine, that's a no-brainer.

The Lindsey ones look strange to me.

I purchased two sets when they first came out and they were CNC milled and fit nicely. I still am using both sets to this day.

Porsche somehow managed to install about 185,000 of these gaskets, without the use of retention brackets or bonding agents.

Just saying.

They didn't do it on >25 year old cars with 100K+ miles on them. Clean, new stuff goes together better.

Agree. If done correctly these are not needed. I have replaced several with not a drop leaking.

Worthwhile to install, i bought a LR set but returned them a few weeks ago because i found a set from MySwiss i forgot i had ordered years ago. I would go with the KLA ones sold on Paragon despite the price.. they include new correct length hardware aswell. While i did not use the LR set my complaint is that they were like 2mm thick or so if i remember right, and you are meant to reuse the original hardware. 2mm difference is not much, but when these bolts are torqued to such a low value i want as much thread engagement as possible.

not to mention, a lot of the "Porsche" oem parts these days seem to have issues with fitment. if you ever paint your car and replace all the seals you will know exactly what I mean..
