Default 89 944t o2 sensor

What is the easiest way to replace the the o2 sensor?
I seem to remember reading you nead a special socket to get in there??
Or is it easier to take 40 parts out of the way.

Nothing special, just stick a 22mm wrench up there and undo it and snake the wire out. Tie a rope to the wire before you pull it out the bottom, then tie the new sensor wire to the rope and pull it back up to the top. Screw in the sensor and you are done.

If it is galled up, use an O2 sensor socket, they are usually about 5-10 bucks.

Actually, its pretty easy to access from underneath behind the crossmember, just make sure you use a 22mm wrench. No tricks to it, other than using the right sized wrench (there is an inside joke there, I was struggling with mine this last weekend but was trying to use a 24mm wrench. Karl was over, he grabbed the 22mm wrench and had it out in something like 15 seconds. lol).

Make sure you get a replacement that doesn't need splicing. I got mine from Autohausaz.

Not sure what you mean, but the universal replacement requires reusing the plug from the stock sensor, whereas the Bosch 13012 is plug and play.
