944s with full leather interiors, such a thing?

Hi,
I'm Jeff from the 968 board and I have a question I wondered if you could help me with. Did Porsche offer any full leather interiors on 944s? For 968s, 95% of them came with partial leather which got you leather on the seat faces but that was it (a leather shift **** and steering wheel was standard). They did offer a full leather interior which got you full leather seats, front and back, and the lower dash, the center console, and the door panel pulls wrapped and stitched in leather. the e-brake was also fully covered and stitched in leather. This option cost over $4K in 1992 dollars. Did they have anything like this for the 944? Someone told me that they even had an upper dash wrapped in leather option for the 944 but I wonder how that would have held up?
Thanks
Jeff

Yes, I know for a fact that full leather interior was an option on the 85.5 and later 944's/951's. I have seen several examples of them over the years; they are certainly rare but are out there.

There certainly is such a thing.
The stitched leather over the lower dash, door panels, center console all the way to the rear of the car and cassette holder cover were one part of the package. Another is the rear seats.
To my understanding, the seat bolsters and backs are still vinyl. Only the seating surface is (perforated) leather.

Yes, that is exactly what I have in my 951.
Scott...still in Denver, CO. I have been buried with work, but felt like taking a look at the forum. Should do that more often. :-)

IIRC from what has been posted in the past, there was never a "full" leather dash option. Only the lower dash was done in leather. The only leather upper dash portions are aftermarket.

I don't believe that is correct, I am all but positive at least two of the cars I have seen had factory leather top dashes.
