Default Question about stereo wiring

I have an alpine, I 'm tapping in a wideband, and I need to have one wire on the ignition switch and one on a fuse, at least 5 amps. Stereo has 2 leads going to the battery, one switched, the other, in theory, is it fused?

You will want to check this because some stereo installers do dumb things, but the other wire *should* be a fused connection directly to the +12V side of the battery

The constant wire is fused at the fuse box with a 15A fuse (#39 I believe). Double check this with a multimeter. There should be a small inline 2A fuse on the switched line, it's in the little white plastic connector. I just had to fix my radio... the person that installed it put two fuses on each power line, used wire nuts to connect everything and wired the fronts to the rear outputs and vice versa. What a mess.

I think every 944 is plagued with bad stereo wiring.

Every car I have came with hacked/rigged radio installs.

That's the wire I used for my WBO2.... but I added a fuse to the wbo2 wire. When in doubt, fuse it yourself.

If that bezel was any more shiny I'd need sunglasses!
