plug and play stand alone ECU for the 951!
This guy is the one who made all teh engines for Lotec with the 1200 HP and 1350 NM C1 car. He also makes stand alone ECUs for many cars. he worked with Siemens and Bosch and is probably one of few who realy knows the secres in the DME.
However he has a plugg and play ECU for the 951 that uses the existing wiring harness.
I met a guy who use one in his 911 C1 and it is the best in the market for this car.
If it is the same for the 951 then it would be worth to take a look. They have a US division but I am not sure if tehy also have teh 951
stuff you can ask if you are interested.

I know for sure that it has done it since October 2002, but most likely it has supported it for some time before that.
As far as racing EFI manufacturers, Motec is quite a ways down the totem pole. I assure you that racing engine management systems by Bosch, Magneti-Marelli, Visteon, etc. have supported EGas for a LONG time.
As long as response time isn't an issue like you often hear with Volkswagens, it could help to make the throttle response more linear, especially with our turbocharged engines.

you need three things.
a wide band (tech edge)
a knock control( safe guard)
an EGA (??)
after that you can tune your car by your self
