To anyone who can bring me a 8mm cheesehead adapter tomorrow morning.

I am located in Stafford VA, wrecked one car last Monday, and have just finished re-assembling my 944 to return to DD use (in place of my dead Audi)..

Last frigging thing I need to do is torque the CVs (and install the front sway bar, but that takes all of 5 minutes), and cant find my frigging adapter..

I will gladly compensate the reward claimant for their time, effort, and the adapter!

Thanks!

Autozone has a 4 pack with a 6mm in it for $12 if you're really in a pinch. Not the best bits, but if you make sure they're seated all the way before torquing you'll be good to go.

Well, that would require me to seat them, then drive the car to Autozone... then drive home to torque them.. on the car I just drove..

I would take my Audi, but alas.. it is gone.. and my 951 just sits there laughing at me...

FAQ is it an 8mm not 6mm, I dunno, cant find my 8mm bit either!

Would have posted it sooner, if I had known sooner... no.. I waited till the END of the day to do the work requiring the special tool... not early enough where I could have actually done something about it!

Been a hell of a day on all fronts...

Whoops, always forget that not everyone lives within walking/biking distance of an Autozone.

Just install them finger tight and drive gingerly, if one falls out there's another 5 to take up the slack!

Damn, bro, sorry about your troubles. But if you can get to an Auto Zone, they have exactly what you need. I ground mine down a bit radially so it seats even better. You can probably use a flat head to get it seated enough to gently cruise there, unless you have a friend nearby. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

I have a snap-on one, but you would have to come and get it in Arlington, sorry d00d.

This makes up my mind to swap out to stage 8 bolts... stupid cheese head bits...

Sad part is I KNOW the bit is in the garage.. but the garage is tiny, and has a HUGE mess in it... maybe I will start tomorrow off cleaning up and see if it turns up, if not I will tighten them down and drive to get a new bit!

Have you looked in that 'special' place you put stuff so that you can find it again?

Mine must have a hole in it, I can never find anything I put in a special place...

Maybe Doug put it in his special place??????

No worries... I'm too tired to worry about it right now, hell I'm even too tired to worry about the bottle of Swepco I left sitting on top of the heater in the garage!
