Building a car like that takes mostly time.Plating parts is not that expensive, time can be
When you build a car in that level, you be far more careful when you drive it. I hope we can finish our project even close to the level you have done it

So true ... the toughest part of plating, is putting all the stuff back where it belongs!
Even all the cleaning an polishing doesn't require the attention to detail as putting all the stuff back where it belongs ...
PET is OK but not the answer most of the time, and the WK SP manuals are far from decisive ... Notes, Notes, Notes !! and then more Notes ... especiallly for those of us who suffer from CRS ....

Just got them back for the Plater
I like the way they came out .... Clear Zinc plated
Before and after pictures It may be hard to see in the picture because they are silver colored but they really came out nice and should hold up much better to rusting on the inside vent area ...

I think the steering knuckle Heat Shield touches up against it and holds in in place, along with the little plastic protrusions that stick out of the shroud collar...
I frankly can't see how one can get a clamp tightened around there ...
I guess it can be done ... I only have one clamp, so I was reserving that for the lower connection....

Hey Ed, I think I saw some rust on a bolt head in that last picture. You had better tear it down and start over... All kidding aside, you have done an amazing job on this restore. Good work!
