968 Turbo Wins Cascade 12 Hour
I thought I would post this here because really how often do you get to sing the praises of 951 reliability?
The Team EKR Porsche 968 Turbo outlasted the competition and won the 35th Annual Cascade 12 Hour at Portland this past Saturday. We completed 501 laps and ran without a single issue all day, while engine failures plagued our BMW competition. The car has a Vitesse enhanced 2.5 liter 951 motor.
There was also a nice looking and fast, orange 951 in attendance. I didn't get a close up look at it. I heard it went out with a headgasket failure.

Good job! I have enjoyed watching your videos over the years. Even added some tunes to my music collection. Your car and your driving are pretty impressive...for a guy who spells his name wrong

That's awesome Eric. Really well done!
A few questions:
So surely you had a co driver?
How long was each stint?
Did you have to pace yourself and at what sort of pace was that? 8/10ths sort of thing?
What sort of boost were you running and how often did you need to re fuel?
How were all the temps?
Tire changes?
What rear wing and splitter? Any more pics of the wing setup?
Congrats!

Thank you very much for posting this!
You have made the (very boring) day of an old German car mechanic.
I had of course at first assumed that this was a siamesed, 16 valve car - but a car with the 2.5 skyscraper cylinders and 2 valves winning an endurance race?
Wow - excellent job.
Obviously perfectly tuned machine.
