True. I was referring more to price point and performance levels in terms of its (cayman/951) place in the Porsche model line up. The cayman sits in the same place now that the 951 did during its inception.

Geez Adam, I've learned a lot from your posts, but give it a break - XXXXX - scratch that, a rest. Yes, I admire your lofty goals, but the record your setting is for maintenence costs. Time to pick on some [non mc] 4 bangers.

Very true! Porsche has been incorporating turbo's a lot more in the last 10 years in varying models.

Time to start a petition to Porsche??? lol

If a GSXR lost to a GT500 in any measure of acceleration, it was pulling a plow. Yes, its possible to lose to a John Deere tractor with the wrong driver, but this one isn't even close.

The big "playing with mustangs" thread ended up being "my car is on jackstands" thread, kinda like I mentioned might happen in my earlier posts.

you always dont need a v12, v10, v8 or v6 to make a car super fast, supercar status. our cars are monsters and have you seen the top gear where the evo keeps up with a lambo?? i really dont think the body is out of date either. wheels are all these cars need to make it look like a new car... i want a 3.2l 16 valve, direct injection, turbo 4 cylinder for the new 944

the issue with that is that a porsche in the speed level of the new M3 and 5.0 is called a carrera...

if you want another 944, another "entry car", dont expect it to do 0-60 in under 5 seconds like those 2 other cars. porsche would not allow a $40,000 car to outrun its flagship thats twice as expensive

Do any of Porshce's models not have one variant that breaks the 0-60 in under 5 seconds? Shoot, I imagine all Carreras will, possibly all Boxsters.

Fixed the transmission...loose linkage. Running the cobra later today. Ready to see how that goes. Back to the GT500 that hung with the GSXR, I saw the video on my friends phone. Whether the rider couldnt drive or what, I don't know, but he hung even. Lost to a Trans-Am with a built 383 though. But anyway, I know trying to hang with these cars is asking for a lot of money and time, but it's all I have around here that can actually run with me. It's civics with fart cans, or V8's with forced induction. I choose to run with the V8's and what not. I have a car that I road race, a truck as a daily driver, and the 951 is my toy. There is another 951 at the college, but it is stock. Black with a yellow stripe that stops at the hood and goes to the back glass, with silver twist wheels. He said he could beat me.

Yea, I saw that one.

"3.2l 16 valve, direct injection, turbo 4 cylinder"

Perfect motor! and 15 psi from the factory with computer boost control and real time a/f timing adjustments, etc. etc. = 350hp no problem.

And then add in AWD!
