Default WTB: Need Turbo Manifold Bolts

Fellas,

Need some VERY GOOD condition turbo manifold bolts. Would like to have at least 4.

Must show ZERO signs of stripping/rounding/etc...on the bolt head. (M8 1,25 35's)

Thanks, trying to get these by Saturday

Man, I tried all the hardware stores, Auto Parts stores, Fastenal and a large distributor of almost every bolt known to man.

It seems that our M8/1.5/35 is an ODD bird. Or at least the 1.5 part....there were lots of places that had M8/1.25/35, but no one (inlcuding Porsche dealership) had the TP of 1.5.

Yessir. The Intake Manifold bolts (runners to head). These are the ones that are M8 x 1.50 x 35 with a total quantity of 8.

I have 4 that are perfect, 3 that look like one more time off/on and they're done, and one that is DEFINITELY done.....hence why I am looking for at least 4.

um, seriously, you can't find them locally? Try your local Toyota dealership, they have them, and replace all of them while you are at it.

McMaster Carr has M8x 35 blue bolts .... You would have to get washers for them ( they are not captive washer bolts ) but you could used the old ones from your current bolts ( I would not ues them in the cam tower as the washers are not captive
They are 12.9's and the are very cheap ( cost wise )
I plated them and they look great ... here's a few pictures
The 1st one shown, was not fully plated yet, but the bolts come as blue in color
Not, like I am showing here ...
Best of luck
Regards
Ed

Or you could convert it to studs and lock nuts – those are available anywhere!

BTW – your local Porsche dealer is either yanking your chain or absolutely worthless. That is a very common size fastener on the 944.

+951 I installed Sharky's several years ago and have been more than happy to never have to jack with lining up the manifold to put bolts in there, stripping out hex head bolts, let alone the possibility of stripping the threads on the head. Set them in with blue loctite and call it day.

I can't believe that the intake bolts are 1.5 and not 1.25. Are you absolutely sure? I've never taken a thread gauge to the intake bolts, but I could have swore i have used those on other projects with nuts. Odd that they would use that pitch on one fastener on the car. Learn something new every day.

Chris,
I replaced mine with 12-pt stainless ARP bolts that I ordered from Summit Racing. They're a 1.25 pitch - part number ARP-771-1004 (come in packs of 5). They're the same ones that are used to bolt the cam tower to the head. If you're going to use these, you'll need copper antiseize.

I have some zinc plated stock ones if you're going to be in the Virginia Beach area. Give me shout - I'll be around this weekend.

Alright, well which ones are they? 1.25 or 1.50?

I was told they are 1.50, whic is why they are so hard to find. I can the 1.25 all day long. Anyone know for certain?
