Has to be the early offset turbo ones for me but then there's nothing better in my opinion. They are the 944 turbo wheels for me. Pity they don't fit on my car

I have a set and Cup II. I am a purist at heart as well, that is why I have them. However, they date the car terribly and realy don't do the lines of the car much justice. I think they are nice for track wheels (which I don't do), but for looks stick with what you have.

Hmm, usually I have to avert my eyes from anything Strosek, but that is actually kind of nice. Maybe because they mostly left it alone.

Actually the glare is hiding the hideous Strosek hatch. I saw the SY Strosek 968 cab at Hershey and it was nice mostly because it didn't have the Strosek hatch.

I have to agree with the early vs late offset and Phonies. Heres our two cars: 86 turbo and a 87 N/A. The early phonies look amazing, but the late ones just look kinda off.

what would be REALLY cool on an early offset '86 car would be late offset 8's on the front and early offset 8's in the back

Here's early offset 8x16's all around with 225/50's and 21mm spacers in the back

Those look like Centerline Champ 500's. Which also look like the stock wheels that came on many Jeep Wranglers.

I'm with the guys that didn't like them but found that they grew. I think it's a matter of looking at the car through certain coloured glasses. The Cup cars or others just look uniquely period and you take them for what they are. I also think that you can modernise these cars tastefully to look great too. I find many people who don't really know our cars remark how contemporary the lines are (especially from certain angles). With the 968 wing mirrors and some nice 18" wheels they can look tastefully modern. Lose the US rear bumper would be my first step if I owned one of these.

Phonies look good though and with the tall aspect ratio tyres, a blast from the past.

I love late offset PD, especially in 8"/9" Cup sizes, but in early offset sorry I rank them among the worst-looking OEM Porsche wheels. Fuchs are the way to go.

I love all phone dials as long as they are 16's. the 15's are way too small

Weren't the Cups from the early offset , deeper dished wheels? I thought the Cups were Circa '86? I prefer the deeper dish set than late offset, shallow dish.
Maybe I'm confused...read, probably.

'86 Cup cars came with 8"/9" Fuchs wheels, '87+ CUp cars with 8"/9" phone dials.

love my phonedials, just bought a second set. Thinking of making a 4x8j set and a winterset in 4x7j I'm currently running the 7 and 8 with 15 and 21mm spacers.
