Shocked a Mustang SVT owner....

Guys - On the topic of tickets...We recently went to VA Beach and got one coming back to MD at Stafford on South 95. My wife was driving and of course went with the flow of traffic. While passing slower cars on the left lane, she briefly accelerated to 90 from approx 80-85 to pass the slower traffic to keep up with the 2 faster cars ahead. While passing to get back on the left, faster lane, trooper clocked her doing 90 and gave her a reckless driving ticket- no fine, just a court date. Really bad luck because we were going briskly with traffic but not reckless but it is what it is...15 years with no tickets and now this.
Any advice or experience with getting out of this ticket is greatly appreciated.
Sorry for slightly OT.

I used to race 'stangs all the time back in the days...they're fun car for straight line but not so when the pavement gets twisty or not smooth. The earlier ones are much lighter and quick. Top speed was only like 135mph for those early pony cars.
Thanks for the feedback guys. This ticket is definitely in VA- Stafford county. Hey, isn't this where the they tried the Snipper case... Any good lawyer in the area you can recommend? Do you thing the judge can be lenient giving this is the first reckless ticket for the wife and it's been 7+ years since the last ticket? Also, she planned to take some defensive driving courses just to show good faith and bring that up to the judge. Other viable options?

the only cobra worth owning are the terminators, 2003-2004. If you raced one of those, you would know. the supercharge whine is very loud. the non-sc'ed are only slightly a step above a gt, with a 4 valve motor instead of 2. still slower than an ls1 camaro or firebird.
then again i'm a biased f-body owner.

You'll find the new 2011 5.0L mustangs to be a tad quicker. I know, I bought one for a DD two weeks ago.
6 speed and a 3.73 rear, it's quick. Weighed it today - 3540 lbs with a 1/4 tank. Haven't gotten a baseline dyno yet. Maybe in a couple weeks.
I wouldn't put it up against either of my 951s at what they do best, but in the right circumstances it's the right tool for the job. Had a bit of a spirited run with a 6.0 GTO yesterday morning. He couldn't catch me. He was trying hard too. I could hear his exhaust over mine. He was really roaring back there, but I didn't see him again until I let up.

After having sworn I'd never own a Mustang again after I got rid of my 2000 GT, this one has changed my mind.

Edmunds dynoed one and got 396 at the wheels. 412 at the crank is very much a wink-wink, nudge-nudge number. http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...ang-gt-50.html

I'm not sure where you get your information, but I can assure you it is wrong. I worked on that engine. I was one of the first people who did, having started working on it in Fall, 2006. It became program in I think January. It was designed completely in house, at V-Engine Engineering at Ford.
