Shocked a Mustang SVT owner....
Yesterday morning was perfect for a good drive... I am lucky enough to have some great roads around the house & they're typically quiet - especially on Sunday mornings.
Well, I was scooting along enjoying myself & I spotted a white car in the distance. After a few longer straights, I could make out that it was a lowered stang moving along at a fair pace... Obviously I couldn't resist making up the distance & I reared up on it pretty quickly - I saw the surprised double take in the rear view mirror... This was followed almost immediately by the obligatory throttle blip & change down... I was already in 3rd and "on boost". Not only did I stay on him, but I had the power to move over & start to overtake on a straight during the 4th gear change...
I did back off a bit because I'm not one to take blind corners in the wrong lane on public roads, but the point was made...
As we reduced speed into the next small town, he pulled over and let me pass - not sure why at first, though it became obvious as we exited the town that he wanted to see if he could keep up...
No chance.
I don't consider myself to be a great driver, but I do consider my 951 to be VERY well set up (thanks eniac). I simply left him for dead through any twisty section & was so far ahead at the straights that he never stood a chance to catch up.
At the next town I slowed again to let him pass... He just looked at me, shook his head & extended the universal "WTF is that" motion.
Fun.

Nice kill! I went over to the Gratchet Cruise in Harrison Township, Mi and had quite a few good kills. C6 base corvette from a roll, my friends 1988 911 turbo and a few others.

You guys must have more lenient cops in the US. More than 25 mph over limit = $933 and 6 months disqualification here in Qld, Australia. We also have anti-hooning laws - get caught doing something considered stupid 3 times and forfeit your car. I'm not condoning speeding, but curious what you get for your troubles in a typical US state?

Bah... Here in jolly old US of A it varries from state to state...
In Virginia, anything over 80 (or 20 MPH over posted speed limit, whichever is less) is a class 1 misdemeanor (just short of a fellony conviction) punishable by 6 month suspension, $2500 fine, and 30 days in Jail... Same level of punishment for driving while intoxicated.... and Judges REALLY don't like it, I watched a Washington DC Police officer, who had been pulled over for 112 MPH get the maximum sentance... in traffic court..
Like I said, it varries from state to state, and even in some places from county to county... some places have "do not persue" statutes on the books that prohibit police from engauging in high speed persuits... others will spike strip your tires regardless of the speed you are running.... it is crazy, and whenever I am driving my P cars accross state lines I make sure to review the traffic laws of where I am running through, just to try to keep my but out of Jail...

I got pulled over doing 85 mph in a 65 zone here in Ohio. The cop wrote the ticket for 80 to save me a little money, and the fine was $130. I was in my BMW at the time and not the Pcar.

The year makes a big difference as pre 03 were not a lot to contend with (over rating from factory of 300hp/tq but more like 270 and heavy).
However, post 03 were/are pavement pounders at close to 400whp bone stock (as per dynos but rated at 390 crank) and like our car, easily modified to much more.
