Front calipers will be 951 S ones, so front rotors will be drilled 928 S4 / 951 S ones. 964 C4 rear calipers which are under work just now will go to rear axle with drilled 951 rotors. Rotors will be Pagid ones, drilling will be made by my friend who have very nice CNC machinery available. Since my son knows very well the Finnish importer of these rotors, he will get them for a very attractive "student-friendly- price"

My friend designed a new transmission mount for my son. He will make it after he returns from his vacation. Lots of another billet parts will come from his shop.
First drawing of the new trans mount:

Hmmm... might be interested in one of those trans mounts should they become available....

Ya know, I think John is on to something, although I did my mount a couple thousand miles ago, the thought of what my father did to me once has resurfaced. I completly refurbished a wooden sailboat, from new stainless hardware to varnish that reflected next week, bottom of the keel to top of the mast, well, I was the only 'rag bagger' in a long line of 'gas pot' mariners, and while I was away on a job, it transformed itself into a cashiers check. Now, you mentioned your son was in college, and I still have that check....

Warm weather continues, so when it is just about 30 Celsius, it's good time to practice some excercise which needs strong muscles Since i am an old fart, it's younger men business.
My son put most of the rear axle to parts. Plan is to remove hubs & torsion bars tomorrow, after that these parts are ready to be media basted and some re-surface.

Even warmer today. Son decided to go to local lake with his firends
So it was my job to start heater/AC unit overhaul. Car's original unit was damaged in engineroom fire, but luckily previous owner was located a spare unit from a wrecked 1988 951 originally imported to Saudi-Arabia

Unit was really dirty, full of sand and some special plants leaves, most likely from Saudi-Arabia, at least i have not seen similar leaves here in Finland.

Starting point

After disassembly

Parts looks quite good after washing

Got to buy some oem style sealing material tomorrow. After that i can put all parts back together.

I sometimes like to joke with the family that my [now $20k] Porsche has given me a million dollar education. In your sons case, if he compiles a scrapbook and gets an Engineering degree, he could roll this into a career at 'Porsche'. This is just the kind of attitude my companies engineering dept. looks for in a prospect. They dont rate book memorization very highly, but attitude, application and accomplishment are big. I think you are doing a fantastic job of raising your son that I'm sure he'll appreciate more and more as time goes by. Well done, Carry on.

At the same time we re-conditioned wiringharness. Old shield was in it's final stage

I always use Jaybird because it's not sticky as so many other brand are. It looks just like oem stuff
My two younger sons who play hockey use only Jaybird with their sticks as well.

Had some fun last weekend, so not progress in the project. PCF main event was at Ahvenisto race track. Here’s few pictures I took. Few of the people who can be seen in the pictures write also here on Rennlist.

Neva (Neva951 on Rennlist)checks tire pressure. Peter & Arno give their advice.

Arto (arto 951 on Rennlist)makes some final adjustments to Tatech engine management system

Arto’s fresh engine

New headlight of Arto’s track toy

Tommy’s fresh engine

Tommy’s newly done brakes (by me)

Jake (white shirt, JakeS2 here on Rennlist)) checks out his S3 with previous owner of that car

Jarmo’s (Jarmol on Rennlist) 968 Turbo’s engine

Jarmo with some 968 CS and his own 968 Turbo

Matti (Mattipuh on Rennlist) under his 968

Matti waiting for some track fun

Sebastian (Seba911 on Rennlist) with his dad working with S2 racecar

Petri Lappalainen’s FIA GT3 class GT3 R racer

Petri checks out sector times

Under front hood of GT3R

Petri with my two younger sons Arno & Peter

CUP tires

Hybrid power

Serious brakes under GT3 RS street car

Interior of the same car

This was also a nice example of powerful Porsche

Really nice 914

Pictures my friend Sami took can be found here
