We choose to go with 928 heads, since Erkka made us an offer we couldn't refused So my son got heads for very student friendly price. Big thanks to Erkka !
My friend will make flange/runners from billet aluminium with his CNC machines after he has rehearsed techniques with similar Audi 5-cylinder setup. Most likely another friend will build a carbon fibre plenum for my son. I suppose 928 right side intake's flange/runners can also be used as a base of building intake. We have planned to have runners/flange like Michael use in this engine. My friend will have during this week a new bigger & better CNC machine, which allows to build parts like this. Most likely we are not going to ITB route, instead of them we are going to use Edelbrock 75mm throttlebody we already have

WOW !!!
That is car **** !!! PERIOD !

That engine is not mine or my son's. It is built by Michael M. I just placed this picture here to show what kind of runners/flange we are planned to use.

Project cars orginal front seats were in quite bad condition. Son have a complete 968 interior which is going to replace the original one. Someone asked me if this burgundy interior is for sale, so i decided to bring it back to live.

Starting point

Cleaned and washed

Ready for sale.

Olli,

That's some pretty incredible work you do with all these porsche parts.. I get equally surprised and amazed every time I watch you bring some old worn out parts back to life.. I wish I had the same skills, because it must be a great satisfaction to restore and renew old written off parts rather then just go buy some new/used ones..

Please keep posting all your big and small projects with lots of pics to inspire the rest of us..

Alex.

Hi Olli
Hope all is well
The seats look great ...
I have a question for you
I was going to re finish the shift boot on my car and was wondering what the color code for the burgundy ? I have a 88 TS which has a burgundy interior ( minus the cloth seats and door cards ) Is the color code the same ?
On one website it says P968 burgundy http://www.leathermagic.com/Pages/porschecolrchart.htm
Does this sound correct ?
Best regards
Ed

Ed, Travis has the burgundy boots, if the refinish doesn't come out well enough.

Thanks Ted very much
I saw them, but was looking for a less crinkle finish...
Sadly it will cost as much or actually more to re-finish the original
Best regards

I cleaned the seats and treated them with commercially available car care stuff. In my case i used Auto Glym products.

Since Burgundy is not a color to go with we had to change carpet color as well.

Some of the original carpets before the treatment.

Adding some carpet dye (Valeters Pride)

After two coats. Will need a third one. Burgundy is really difficult color to dye over with black.

I suppose it will last years. After all we did not use paint which just color outer surface of the fabrics. Dye goes through the fabrics just like it did when carpet's original color was applied. We also brushed dye heavily into the carpet to ensure it will go where it is needed.

Before we can start bolt on under garriage parts, we just have to take care one cosmetic thing. Since we have a lot of red anodized parts (see color from pictures) our friend Antti (9Products) has made for us,

GAZ blue just won't fit. Because of that we put GAZ's to parts

and placed blue anodized parts to citric acid bath.

When anodized coating is removed, we will have parts re-anodized to same red as parts my friend have made for us.
We also found out the original anodized blue was not that good, so we hope we can have also a better surface.

Hey Olli, I am envious of you and your son's project and time together. I am also interested in finding out the dye product you are using on the carpets. I have tried a black carpet paint on a brown carpet , but still have a brown haze appearance. Is it available on the internet. Thanks and keep the pictures coming. Gordy
