ha-ha well maybe, we all do stupid stuff that takes a huge amount of effort and time that is also cool. Its those kinds of things you would not do if you knew how much was involved, and need time to forget what a pain in the *** things like that are, so you do them again some time later lol.

I didn't think it would take 5 months to install a turbo on my 951

both! it took a week all up to get all that sorted. more of the custom exhaust that had to get built, all V-band. modified X-over V-band turbo inlet also. there was a lot of small things that got modified as water fittings for eg.

Wow that looks real nice.
You reckon you can show us how it looks fitted in a car?

Since 951 engine will be with a 16V head, we decided to change triggering as well. We are going to use 944 S2 60-2 flywheel with cam hall-sensor. Son managed to get S2 parts for a good price from a friend
He seems to be very well connected to the right persons

I chose S2 flywheel also. What clutch are you planning to use? Since KEP doesn't make 225mm S2-compatible pressure plates, I was planning to use SPEC Stage III+.

Also, what engine management are you planning to use?

Tere Peep,

most likely we are going to have Ojennus fabricate us a disk.

Pressure plate have to checked out. It can be original as well. My son Lauri already have a Tatech ecu. He bought it from Fredrik in Sweden. It came along with 16V turbo engine Markus sold to Gustaf. So ecu has made a round trip in Baltic Sea (Finland-Estonia-Sweden-Finland). With ecu came a poorly built wiring harness, but since it is already made for 60-2 triggering we can copycat it easily.

Olli I want your friends
is there anything you can't get fabricated ?
with all the cool parts getting fitted to your sons car, I wouldn't be surprised if you posted "had a problem with the the transaxle, so I got a friend to CNC one up for me over the weekend "

peace

Hope son's transaxle is a good one. He exchanged 951's original very dirty non LSD and non cooled unit to overhauled transaxle with LSD & cooler. Some nut person made this trade with him
It's good to have innovative friends who are able to fabricate nice parts. I have always like the idea "what is not available - make it". Also when you are on tight budjet you find out how to make things happen even with limited budjet

Olli, are the 928 heads like the s head or closer to the 968? Also, I wonder if the manifold flange could be used for fab work? Aluminum?

Sid,
More close to S-heads. Almost direct bolt on. According to my 928 friend Erkka (Vilhuer here on Rennlist, from who heads were bought) one oil channel needs to be blocked off. Also it might need bigger intake valves and slight intake channel enlarging. If you use original size valves with these 928 heads intake valve area will be 21% and exhaust 26% larger vs. 951 valves. We choose to go with 928 heads, since Erkka made us an offer we couldn't refused So my son got heads for very student friendly price. Big thanks to Erkka !
My friend will make flange/runners from billet aluminium with his CNC machines after he has rehearsed techniques with similar Audi 5-cylinder setup. Most likely another friend will build a carbon fibre plenum for my son. I suppose 928 right side intake's flange/runners can also be used as a base of building intake. We have planned to have runners/flange like Michael use in this engine. My friend will have during this week a new bigger & better CNC machine, which allows to build parts like this. Most likely we are not going to ITB route, instead of them we are going to use Edelbrock 75mm throttlebody we already have
