I've been searching and reading about different turbo options for our cars. I have seen many posts about how fast a certain turbo spools up. The best way to seperate the fact from the BS is to post your dyno chart of your "quick spool" set up. It is very easy to see when the turbo hits max boost (peak torque).
So far the fastest spooling setup I have seen an actual dyno chart for is a k27/6-7200 - peak torque around 3100 rpm. I have yet to see a setup that provides meaningful torque under 3000 rpm. I have read many posts about the Vitesse Stage 2R. Let's see the charts ! Pauer Tuning ? TO4e ? etc.
Tony G - you may NOT post your LS1 chart and claim a turbo !

i like the term "meaningful torque below 3000" i wish i had a dyno chart of mine i'd love to compare it .. i realy beleive there was meaningful torque . i remeber the turbo was not at all explosive it spooled gently but i was always impressed at the torque it made from 5 psi..
I'm still convinced a#6 hot side is to small i hope i see a few charts to prove me right or wrong ..

The 3 liter guys can join in as long as they make that fact clear in the post - we want apples to apples.
I'll go first since I brought it up - here is a chart for a k27/6 - 7200. Mods include MAF and 3" exhaust. "Eclou" may recognize this chart !

I believe that your whole premise is a little misguided. Dyno runs are typically done in direct drive, right? Well, by the time you run through three gears, you've pretty much set the turbo in motion, and it will be very quick to spool.
And if you don't get it spooled while running up through 4th gear, it will be accelerating so slowly in 4th gear that it will still move a lot of mass through the system as it spends more time at the lower RPM's.
I've had I think 5 turbocharged cars, and they all behaved very differently in the lower gears than the upper.

I don't think the charts on Vitesse are the stage 2R or even the stage 2 with the "quick spool" option, but I could be mistaken.
The dyno runs I did and the ones I've seen all start with the car in 4th gear at a steady rpm - usually around 2000. Then the driver puts his foot to the floor, so spool up should be visible in the torque curve.

Ive been wondering about running 9:1 compression on a 2.5 litre with a quick spool turbo. Higher compression ratio should help with a quicker spool up right? If you are not aiming to run high boost this should have a number of advantages.

How bout a video? you can hear it spool and see how quickly its at boost.. 2nd gear start though.
From 1.5 sec to 3.5 sec is 30-60mph. Includes spool. from 3.5-7sec is to 95-100mph.. (fire pop from exhaust is from 3rd to 4th)
