Question Valentine 1 owners, where did you mount concealed display?

I have my V1 hardwired and mounted just left of the rear view mirror, but I can't decide where to put my concealed display where it is in good view but not blocking anything. What has everyone else done?

I don't see the point of the remote display if you don't have some fancy custom hidden mount for the V1. (like inside your 3rd brake light housing).

The V1 is mounted right next to your mirror, which you should be looking at pretty often anyway, and keeps your eyes up. Seems way more convenient to me than having to look down somewhere on the dash, under the radio etc.

+1, what Cole said. I've run a V-1 with my 944/951/968 for years and never felt the need for a concealed display for it. Its barely visible from outside the car.

I put mine to left of the radio under the dash. When it goes off I just glance down and can see the arrows. I'm sure there are several places it could go.

Soooooo.........as soon as there is a radar alert......you are looking at your feet rather than down the road for the cop?!!

Personally I want to keep my head up. By the mirror or if you must have a remote mount display put it on the dash right in front of the driver somewhere.

Lighten up a little bit. I don't stare at the display. My first response when the detector goes off is usually to hit my brakes and glance at my speed. Believe it or not I can do both of those at the same time. When I want to see the arrows I just glance, I don't have to stare. It probably takes less than a second, no different than looking in the rearview mirror or at the side mirror. Even at my advanced age I still have mutitasking skills.

I hard wired mine to the light right above the rear view mirror and mounted it there. I see no reason for a remote display on these cars. Above the rear view mirror is way outta the way and no one is going to be able to really see it. Makes it easy to glance at in a pinch as well.

There was nothing heavy about my comment. Your picture just shows a display that is right by your feet, not up on the glass area. I was just pointing out the difference.

My remote display is mounted on the steering column, when I redo the dash lights, I plan on putting it inside the instrument panel between the speedo and tach.

The remote display keeps the thing from lighting up like an x mas tree when it goes off and discourages tailgaters ( some people look for car with RD and tuck in behind them).

I have never met a person that does this. I have only heard internet rumors of such activity.

Anyone actually know someone that tries to use OTHER peoples radar detectors when driving?

PO of my 951 S, said it used to happen to him. Ca Bay Area, lots of crazy bastards out there! I know I that's where I am from. He installed the remote display and later tinted the windows so it was longer a problem.

You should be able to down load the instructions from the V1 site.

I found this DIY, I guess you can complicate anything if you try hard enough!
