thinking about ordering it and making custom mounts and piping for it, not too big to block the entire radiator, but i think it would still flow better than stock?
anyone have any thoughts on it? i really don't want to modify my front bumper or anything like that if i don't have to. thanks!

IMO, the problem with the stock intercooler isn't size or flow, but getting cold air to it. Some thing like this would help because the surface area would be much greater.
Only one way to find out! I have been very successful with the 2 eBay inter-coolers I have gone with.

I did some temperature testing a while back on the stock intercooler and found that it worked pretty darn well to get the temps down near ambient. It did show signs of heat soak fairly quickly though....

no the other way so the cross section of the path of the charge air takes . wich will determine how much of a restriction or pressure drop it is. Its not always that simple as differnt cores flow more or less per area but its good way to operate asuming the cores are of similar type .
so its hight by thickness .. so a stand one is 5X5.5

then by that math the one in question is a little over 30 inches. not much more than the stock one but probably decent in general...ill keep an eye on it for my project
jesus, that means the jaguar awic i hope to use eventually has a cross section of like.....70"..

Not that I'm saying this one should definitely be bought, but even though it works out a similar area as the stock one, perhaps it could still have better flow and cooling because of it's internal design and intended location....just saying...
I know someone who only yesterday was using a stock one on the track and seeing air inlet temps of 70 degrees Celcius. This was inturn affecting the car enough for the standalone to start pulling timing. So performance was being hindered substantially with the stock i/c.
