Yup, measured 22lbs difference using my ultra accurate bathroom scale. The big savings are in the bumper shocks which are like boat anchors. Despite being fiberglass, the OEM bumper is very heavy duty fiberglass, not like most aftermarket stuff you think of. It's as thick as the aluminum bumper.

I agree. It's pretty solid. I don't think that it is fiberglass, though. Anyone know exactly what is is made from?

someone once told me it is GRP (reinforced plastic - stuff some boats are made out of)?

I see 6 of them for sale at UK eBay right now...

They are a dime a dozen in Europe because of course all 944's there had them. The trick is finding someone willing to package and ship it to you in the States.

That's what it feels like too me as well. How does one go about patching that stuff. I have a 1 inch crack in mine that doesn't really affect function, but doesn't look perfect, so I'm looking to patch that area.
Nay ideas guys?

I'm sitting at home on my day off from work looking at euro bumpers. Just try to talk me out of it...

Seriously. If ANYONE in the states has one available at the moment, consider it sold. I will so drop the cash on one right now. It'll go nicely with the replacement front bumper and CPR front splitter I have waiting.

I've got one in my rafters - waiting to fill the holes for the bump strip and go to paint. Paid $15 for it and mounts at Dunkle's Swap Meet in Anaheim.

Ehall, I used regular fiberglass mat and resin to repair mine which had a piece cracked off. My friends had a hole in it which I patched with the the mixed paste stuff for boat repair mainly.

I was going to use "kitty hair" - chopped mat in resin - comes in a can w/ hardener paste just like bondo.
