Default Euro Bumper Pics

Sourced a euro bumper from eBay UK about a month ago and got it painted and mounted last week. There's a poor, unsuspecting NA in the parking lot at work so I parked next to him at lunch today and snapped a few (kinda crappy) pics from my iPhone for your amusement. For comparison purposes only

The bumper was cheap, 40 British Pounds, which Google says is 65 US Dollars. The shipping, however, was ~ $120. Still, I figured $185 for a euro bumper with the rub strip and the mounts was a pretty good deal.

Only took 3 days to ship from the UK too, faster than stuff from the east coast of the US to Colorado.

I think I see my next mod now. The only part of my car I really don't care for is the bumper sticking out so far and this looks great.

I got a little bonus, the eBay listing didn't say anything about the mounting brackets being included. I emailed the seller and asked if he had them for sale but he didn't reply. Opened the box and there they were. I'd already placed an order with Sunset, who was good enough to cancel the order.

For future reference, the part number for the mounts is:

2 x 477 807 131 A - Bumper reinforcements. Sunset quoted me $42.50 ea.

A couple of observations: You really see the diffuser/under bumper spoiler now, along with the exhaust tip. Interesting too that the back edge of the hatch spoiler and the rub strip of the bumper are now on the same vertical plane. To anyone but us 944 geeks it's a subtle mod because it just looks right, like that's how it was designed to look.

love the euro bumper look. I think that it was the way Porsche designed the car to look before having to meet US impact regulations.
Very nice.
Just curious, How does it compare in weight to the US version?

I didn't put it on a scale but it's a pretty substantial weight reduction. The US bumper is metal and the bumper mounts are big, heavy shocks vs. pretty flimsy mounts and fiberglass on the euro version. Of course the US bumper is that way for a reason, this thing is not going to provide much rear impact protection...

Seller was mcporsche-9s on UK eBay. He was great to work with, excellent communication and very fast shipping in a well packaged box. Unfortunately, doesn't look like he has any more for sale at the moment...

Looks great, i bought mine about 3 or 4 years ago from eBay.uk.. total cost i think was about $180 shipped. I could never look at the big US style bumpers ever again. My exhaust sticks out a ridiculous amount now. The tip probably extends about 1-1.5'' past the bumper now. Its been on my 'list' of stuff to do eventually to cut the tip off and have it welded on a little shorter. The only 'not correct' thing is mine is a n/a euro rear with the thin rubber strip.. so technically not politically correct .

It really improves the look of the rear end i think and i think with the hoop spoiler really updates the look of the car. I noticed the same thing when i had the original spoiler on the car that everything sorta ends right inline. What a great looking car we all own.. .

Some Euro projects. Several Rennlisters wanted them, but none of them didn't located the parts for exchange we agreed.
