What do you mean if you'r not overweight?

I am slightly overweight at 165lbs. I think my hayabusa throttle bodies will stay next to the 951 and not in the 951....

Whenever I see a hayabusa, I usually see a rather large fellow attached to it. And I would agree, keep the throttle bodies where they count.

Ever ride one? Take one of those for a ride then go ride a seemingly tiny CBR600RR. Having some extra weight to throw around when riding a hayabusa helps greatly.

Because big boys need more power to move them around. Also, being a little longer makes the big boys fit better.

You dont need weight to ride one. They are 475lbs dry. They aren't that heavy. Also, you really dont use weight to move the bike. They have steering. They are quicker with smaller riders.

Okay. So Busa's are big bikes that are deceptively heavy looking... But more importantly they have something we want. Throttlebodies. So back to the issue at hand.

If I were to look around, roughly how much can I find a set of Busa TB's for? Using a set of those, plus an extra 951 intake manifold, a cutting wheel and a welder... I could conceivably be on my way to learning some potential valuable lessons lol. But hopefully, come out ahead with a homebrew ITB setup!

I never said they were a heavy bike, just a bigger bike, easier for larger riders then a larger rider on a 600. Although 475 is heavier then I would like in a sport bike.

You can find a stock set of TB's for about $150.

What would really be the advantage for investing more than 1k for 4 itbs vs a custom manifold?

I didn't say they were heavy either. They just look like they are. Little piggy bikes lol. Although, I'd love a 600 because I'm a big fan of RPM's, and I've always liked what I'm driving/riding to be agile.

150 bucks?! Seriously? I'm gonna go buy a set then. No reason for them right now, but I'd sure have fun tinkering with them and jotting down designs etc. Aside from the mostly universal design, and expensive prices, there is little difference between something like that DIY company, and someone who sources their own parts.

But I am curious about the same issue someone else brought up. What about boost? What can these units take?

I also did some reading on those stand-off injectors. Sounds like it would take more time and refinement than I have time for. Although I understand that working on something like this is going to be time consuming.

SO... just curious WTF the weight of a B***H bike rider has on DIY ITB setup?

just wondering if this was an un-intentional thread jack, or if it was on purpose...

Back to the thread.... ITB for Idiots...

Can they take boost? Well there are turbo charged hayabusas running around making 400 to 500hp. They typically use a t3/t4 turbo setup. So, yes, they can take boost.

This post was not helpful at all. Considering that the 2.5 is going to breathe differently and flow nearly nothing like a 1.3 liter Suzuki bike motor, I was hoping to find details on how adapting them from one environment to another would effect things... Then adding positive "manifold" pressure to the mix. I'll just go look it up myself when I get off work...

They look and sound badass too. At least they sound good on an NA motor.
