we have another donor that came in today with our biggest contribution yet financially and with lots of shirts for us to use for uniforms at the shop

respecting discretion I cant disclose amount and who, but I will tell you I get a PM a day and an email a day from generous RL P guys

I got a call from one of the moms - both her boys were there and it was her bday last night. she is trying to get to the 15th payday with $14 since Monday. one of her boys showed up and confessed he isnt at all mechanical and volunteered to cook the burgers on Tuesday nights.

I slapped a screwdriver in his hand and instructed him to remove alll the Turbo engine's cooling hoses - to say the least he was busy then he removed the fans - did he say he wasn't mechanical ? - i dare say he walked away the dirtiest of them all

we have an older gentleman living in the neighborhood living alone now showing up like clockwork setting up all the wiring and lights

we had a father son duo come in last night to work - looking for a place for them to hang out together.

this ministry - this effort - is evolving and taking a number of forms

I am teaching the boys the business side of life and organizational skills as well
we now have a donor database and we plan on servicing our donors well.

I have one doing our financial planning learning to prioritize not just for his car but for the car of the other

I have one developing our journaling and communications through facebook (dang I am an old guy) website email lists etc

thanks you guys
please pass the news along

if we can raise enough money and parts we will have two junkers turned into concourse quality autox cars for two great kids
then I have 2 more that show up every sun and tue without a car hoping to have a turn for them

keep the support emails and comments coming

we worked all night tonight

we have the engine ready to pull just a couple of bolts left on torque tube - yep you guessed it the top two lol

we want to say thanks to Ben Waite in Mass for the door panels and cool pics

we need a set up rings for zachs car
upper and lower gasket kits
clutch kit
set of axles
injectors
windshield
carpet
set of tail lights
if we can raise $1000 we can have him running

i know an afm and throttle body is coming withn a jboot
we are moving hard and fast

thanks for the donations
they are coming in and we are using them

nobles 951 is far from getting pulled - he is truly learning to turn wrenches and we are gaining ground

if you would like a 'turbo cup' shirt (see the thread I just started) all you need to do is donate some $$$ (whatever amount you choose) to this project...

PM Mr. Jackson your address and he'll get it to me...
I have 3 L and 3 XL
first come, first served...

Thank you Arthur for your continued support.

I took the kids to the track for our DE weekend and they had a ball.

tomorrow night we get back after the real work of pulling engines out.

We appreciate your generosity

well guys we pulled the engine tonight

what fun whoooohoooo

what a dirty job tonight - my wife and daughter cracked up when i walked in the house

Zach is excited - truly

we are taking some of the donated funds to buy him a new engine stand at Harbour freight ($50)

we are also buying a Blast Cabinet to remove the pounds of rust on every part

then we start breaking the engine down and start stripping the Tub for a complete bottoms up redo

this car is going to be as fine as yalls someday and he is soooo pumped

The chicago region is going to send out an email to their members seeking support for us.

THANK YOU CHICAGO

one of my DE guys showed up and fellow board member and RLister Joost Perquin - in his suit and he helped me pull that engine

amazing these boys are getting taught how we car guys stick together

Thanks everyone

Richard,

As discussed this weekend, since my car is going the other way, most of the interior carpet, roof panel, bottom halves of the back seat, front seat belts (retractors do not work) and console are available. I want to hold on to the door panels for now as I still have glass in the doors.

It will need to be next week as I have prior commitments until then. If Pro Technik is on its usual schedule the car will probably be there a while, next week at least and maybe the week after. We can do it there or I can bring it by where the kids are doing all their work, after Chris gets finished with it. Unfortunately the PO bolted the roll cage through the carpet so it will have to be removed to get at the carpet and the rear panels, front seat belts, etc. So I anticipate it will be more than a one evening process.
