I have one set (4) of 993 rears, and one set (4) of 996 rears. They're all the same size, 9"X17" et 55, and weigh about the same (light for oem street wheels).
I run 275/40's front/rear (RA1's or R6's), but it's a track car.
The only practical difference is the 996 wheels are twists, the 993's aren't.
Boxter rears or 964 rears in the same size are HEAVY.

Are those 18's or 17's? What tires are they?
Is this a online store or just an individual?
Please do tell as I am about to pay that for used!

That is what I have on my car.

FWIW, I like the alternate wheel, whatever it is called, better than the twists. Everybody and their brother has twists.

Sorry Twists are played out..! Everyone and their momma has a set on their 944... Step up to the modern age..! Go big like porsche has... 19 Inches nothing less..!

I really wanted to get these;

http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...i/DSC_2431.jpg

But couldnt find anyone with a set for a good deal... So I got the set on my car from another porsche owner for $600 w/tires and a 5th rear spare...

Get the newer style rims from a cayman or carrera...

These rims are OK too;

http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/cto/1367976530.html

there was a guy here in miami selling a set w/o tires for $700 not my first choice but I like them they are OK and still 19"...

Just My 2 cents...

I think that the 19's are way too much for the body style.

+ Another. Looks caricaturish. Gotta keep in mind that the newer Porsches that use them are significantly bigger than the 944. 16's are okay, but a tad undersized. 18's are pushing it, IMHO. I personally find 17's to be about perfect on these cars. Although, I have to admit, that black one Lart posted is friggin' SWEET

I can agree... 20's on the 944 would be over kill for sure..! Maybe a 20 in the rear and 19 in the front but I think the cost of the tire would be more than the rim and just too skinny on the side wall...

What do you mean the modern Porsches are bigger..? Id have to disagree there... My S2 fit the rims off the Cayman flawlessly... I have spacers that the guy gave me with the rims but didnt use them at all...

My Fronts Are 19x8 with 235/35/19 and rear is 19x10.5 with 275/30/19 rear has a ET55 offset the front I will have to take one off and check it... None the less the fit well look great and no rubbing...

But again I have a 90 S2 and it comes stock with the M030 suspension and I believe the wheel arch area is larger than early model 944s...

But those 19s on that Golf is overkill for sure; but those same rims on a 944 would be F-in sexy..!
