oem offset for the 86 is 23/23 (actually 23.3) F/R
so to match this you need ~32/27 spacers (55-23, 50-23)

since the wheels are wider in the rear I'd shoot for offsets of 23/15 (that's what my reps are) so 32/35 spacers, or as close as you can get...

H&R makes a 32/32 for our cars...that will put the centerline of the F the same as oem and push the R out 5mm ~1/5th inch

what are the tires and rim widths?

Who cares what Porsche approves of. They wouldn't approve engine mods but that doesn't stop anyone from doing them. As far as wheels go, it's all a matter of taste. I think 19's are too big for a 944 and make it look like a donk or matchbox car, but to each their own.

The Information is for guys just like you two; But thats just my opinion... We cant all Always be right; and i never said I was... I just argued that the car is more than capable of housing wheels larger than 16"s and it was others who opposed the idea; so for all them the Fact Sheet is in and it says otherwise...

Even tho 19"s arent on the the list its only a +1 on a 968 Turbo S...

I thought that was proven when people put 18"s on the car or 17". 19 are to big from an aesthetic point.... or they can be painted black to hide them better.

The problem with your car Dannie is that all i see is wheels when i look at the car. They should complement the car not over power.(just like any body mod) These cars are beautiful keep them that way.. You have a really nice car

i dont say this often about these cars but yours might benefit from a font splitter and side skirts to "even out" the look of the car

I thought this thread was going to start out good, as a set of these wheels came with my car unmounted. I like them and would like to add them. The car came with 16" phone dials and some Michelin tires. The tires look great, but are 10 years old I really would like to replace them, especially now that my car is ready for the road after 10 months of work.

Seems lots of people veered off and started talking about every other wheel out there.

Anyway, I'd like to hear more about these wheels in particular, the pros and cons about them, and what size tires everyone is running with them. Also, those of you with pre 87 cars, what size spacers are you running?

Thanks.

I ended up going with the twist's. Kind of worked out that way becasue of the price but I still think I like the claws better. Having been a mustang guy, I think that somewhere deep down inside they remined me of the magnum 500's.

Anyway, the twists I bought are et 55 front and et 50 rear. I spoke with Dave Martin at wheel enhancements and he recommends a 28 - 32mm in the front and a 43mm in the rear. $450 for the set of all four. OUCH. They are H&R, very high quality.

tires are:
rear: 255/45 17
front: 225/45 17

Not sure if these tire sizes are correct for the 944...

after spacers:
F 55-32 ~ 23 perfect
R 50-43 ~ 7, seems too much...mine is 15, and is close, but no rubbing
that pushes the wheel/tire out 23 - 7 = 16 mm + 30/2 mm for the tires ~31mm 1.25"
that's seems like a lot

my tires
225/45/17
255/40/17

ArthurPE,
Yours seems too be spaced right. I like that your rear wheels seem to be pushed out a little farther than stock. What were your offsets and what spacers (size and mfg'er) did you use?

no spacers but the wheel offsets are:
F 23
R 15

width
F 7.5/225
R 9/255

yours should be set-up similar
the F w/32's seem good at 23
the rears, imo, should be ~15, so you need a ~35 spacer, not 43...

unless I'm missing something

Im Saving up for the Front Poly Splitter since my batwing is broken and I took it off; Id love to find a set of side skirts too..! Ive seen one Set that was OK this one:

http://www.allporscheracing.com/Imag...0Blue%20SS.jpg

There was one i saw that had the side skirts that ran up the side of the rear lower part of the fender well but i cant find them now... Aside from lowering the car a little bit i think it sits nicely on 19"s... Im thinking about lowering it 3/4 inch to an Inch in the front and now more than a 1/2 inch in the rear...
