I was wondering what the appetite would be for a new shifter? This is very well engineered with roller bearings on the rod and a spherical bearing on the bottom. It is very similar to the Fabcar version for the 911 (pictured below) except specifically designed for the 944. No slop what soever.
I'm just having one finished for my car. Couldn't stand anything that is on the market now for our car. So I decided to have one made to my specs. Shifter is pretty much the same as you see in the photo. The bearings are very high end combination bearings. It's the only way to have it function properly with our style of linkage. I'll post photos up soon.
No as that wouldn't fit. It's a custom piece made by my machinist to my specifications to fit our cars. The shifter itself looks very much like the Fabcar, which is actually like many shifters on full race GT cars. This is a very cool piece.
