Lower backpressure will mean lower egt, right? High egt's are a problem on a stock 26/8 when you increase the boost pressure. It would be very interesting to know the backpressure on your cheater 26/8 vs stock. (I know your stage 2/3 is exellent when it comes to backpressure/ egt).

If you ever pull your turbo, we can modify it a bit to handle a bit more flow for less backpressure.

Many things affect EGT. You could have a very nice flowing turbine section, yet have very high EGTs (due to improper tuning for the application). The main issue of excessive backpressure that we should be concerned with is detonation.

I tried posting this last night after Greg's question, but for some reason it did not take...

Following along Greg's thoughts... would you be able (& willing) to mod a K27/6 or /8 with your cheater type mods? This would be for someone looking for more power when your stage 2/3 are no longer available.

Just curious and putting it out there as I have the real deal waiting to go on... I'm actually kind of surprised no one's asked yet. Cheers!

Well once you use the K27 compressor, it's no longer stealth as the compressor housing is larger (2.75" inlet). The stealth or cheater turbo looks identical to the stock K26 from the outside.

I'm not a big fan of the K27/6 mainly because of the back pressure issue. A few things can be done to improve it, but not to expect miracles.
The K27/8 is ok, just a bit laggy for my taste.

At this point, I want to see how well the Stealth kit does. As far as reworking K27/6 or K27/8 I'll have to think about it, it may not make much sense $ wise.

The cheater can be used with stock injectors, but will need a 3bar FPR.
Is there any chance of getting a new another one? Are the Stage III turbos in the same perdicament?

Feel free to pm me, if the info is sensitive.

I was thinking cheater type mods to help with the backpressure and maybe make it flow a little better- not trying to make it an actual cheater. Like I said, maybe an alternative when your stage 2/3 are gone. No idea if it would be profitable for you, just thinking out loud...

BTW, still grinning every time I drive now with your MAF setup! Wanting very badly to get the stage 2 on there, but am forcing myself to sort a few more things first.

Take it easy!
