I checked the backpressure on my (ex) 951S with 26/8. Boostpressure fell from max 15psi to 12,5 psi at 6200 rpm. Backpressure at 6200 rpm was 25 psi!

Tial WG and cat bypass.

I thought the high backpressure was the main reason it is not a good idea to go much over 15 psi boostpressure on a stock 26/8 (?).

If the backpressure on your modified 26/8 i lower, maybe 16-17 psi boostpressure is ok on that turbo?

How much more than a stock 26/8 is this? As much as 40-45 rwhp extra?

Yes, if you turn the boost up to 18++ psi, it's a totally different game. But to me the cheater 26/8 looks very similar to the stage 2 as long as your maximum boost is 15-16 psi. Correct John?

Not exactly, totally different applications.

It's impossible to tell the exact difference unless you dyno the same car on the same dyno under the same conditions (back to back), which is not going to happen. 40-45rwhp is reasonable!

Your k26/8 with the Tial WG should hold 15psi boost to redline. Something is not right??

We address the backpressure issue!

Sounds interesting. However no money makes this a moot point for me.

There is one, but I do not have the customer's permission to make it public. The customer is on this list, I would leave it up to him. I can tell you that at 12-13psi it was about 270+rwhp on a load dyno.

Looking at the turbo, you cannot differentiate it from a stock K26.

By the end of Sep. we will have both K26 #6 and #8 cheater turbos on the shelf. This will expedite the turn around time, so you don't have to wait a couple of weeks to get your turbo back. The turbos are on exchange basis!

Those who are interested in this package, please email me directly to place your order.

Hi John,

First of all, this kit seems like a great way to go, well done.

Is it the mods you're making to the turbo that address the backpressure issue or is it something external that can be purchased from Vitesse for use on my K27/6 (happily running with Vitesse MAF & software already of course!)?

The mods are made to the turbo itself.
