how would this work for someone who already has your MAF? What would the price be for just the turbo?

What is the longevity of this turbo compared to stock? Are you turning off the KLR or bypassing overboost control with this system? If so could that pose a problem if something was to get out of wack?

Are these numbers on an otherwise stock car? No exhaust mods etc.... And of course would you expect slightly better numbers if there were other mods?

Of course it will work with the MAF. At the moment, I'm not offering the turbo by itself.. Email me directly!

It's a stick K26 that gets rebuild with upgraded components. KLR is not turned off, you have the option to leave it as is, or you can gain control over boost yourself.

BTW. Overboost is in the DME not the KLR!!!!! So this system works in this regard similar to a performance chip upgrade.

These numbers are with aftermarket exhausts.. Still at this power level, the stock exhaust (minus cat) is fine!

The results are great. On a stock boost level, we are around 270-280rwhp and lots of torque. Turn up the boost and 300+rwhp with similar torque is no issue. A nice wide powerband, with similar spoolup characteristics to the base turbo!!!.

The beauty of this setup is the ability to use the factory J-boot for 100% stealth look.

I'm thinking of putting together a package to include the turbo (on a exchange basis), AFM software , a way to fine tune the setup and to set boost (cycling valve and single port WG will be supported). The target price will be around $1995.

Do think this will be a good option for someone wanting a good performance increase at a entry level price?
If you turn up the boost, though, don't you get in a range where the engine would benefit from a MAF? I'm no expert, just curious. I would love to be able to put down about 300 whp for $2k.

The turbo sounds like it'd be near-perfect for my goals. But I'd probably do the MAF at the same time, or sooner, just for driveability, and because it opens up some space under the hood.

I would most definitely be in for this type of upgrade. $2k is very reasonable too!

The MAF will open up the intake and will help spoolup. However, it'll bump the price up as well. It's a option for sure.

We have many racers running this setup with great success. Actually, that's why it's called a "cheater" LOL. The main goal is to keep the price at $2000 and to make this package as a great bang for the $.

I guess i was confused with the "you can switch it on or off" and what you were referring to.

But thanks for the lesson i was under the assumption KLR controlled overboost or part of the knock sensor operation

Yes you can switch between KLR controlling boost or you control boost via PB.

Definitely interested. ~300hp is my target for what I'd like to get out of my currently stock 86. Your stage II requires more mods and makes power than I want or need. I'd like to stay with the stock AFM. Cheater setup sounds like the ticket for me along with swapping out to a 3" exhaust.

Is this new setup designed to use stock injectors and FPR?

Very interesting. I've been toying with the idea of doing a daily driver in full stealth mode. Are you using the stock injectors and FPR for this?

Humm. This would have been nice...about this time last year before I started my build and buying parts. (Including that recent check to you for a box of goodies.)This is exactly what my original goal was: 325 dependable and drivable rwhp. Keeps the stock plumbing for air, water and oil lines. Like everything you do well engineered and lots of options. I'm going the hybrid bigger To4e compressor side but using the stock K26 hot side just makes a lot of this easier. Of course with your MAF even that works out well on the intake plumbing / 3” now. Dollar versus results plus providing an engineered solution looks spot on. Bet this is a good seller.
