Little write up on the 62/62 from Al with DynoFlash. The turbo we are using for my car has a Garrett dual BB center section and a billet compressor wheel.

Thanks for the info.

I personally like the 62/62 on the street.

We have two evos making 700 on pump and meth highhats 2.0 L and andother member with 2.3. I can say without a doubt the 2.3L you wont need a smaller turbo unless you are doing auto cross.

The great advantage on the 62.62 from precision is the price - I sell them under $1,300 all said and done with dual ball bearings and a ported compressor cover (not drilled) and V band etc.

Another great turbo is the so called 62/82 which combines the 62 compressor with the slightly smaller garrett GT 35 r back turbine wheel and CHRA. This turbo hits a bit lower and harder in the low end but costs about $200 more becuase of the genuine garret CHRA.

We have also used the 62.62 on a STI - 660 on pump and meth at 29 psi and I run the FP HTA 86 on my STI and I made 680 on pump with meth.

Man, that thing must howl on your car. I've got the Tial GT3076 on my 2.5L and it's a great little turbo.

No howling yet.. Its just sitting in a box.. The one I had is the one JLturpin was trying to sell.. I sold the whole kit to him.. nicest kit I ever sold.

I've kept it kinda small for pretty much instaboost.. this turbo GT30 FPHTA is suppose to allow 500 -550 to the wheels for 1 bar to be obtained less than 3K rpms.. NO other turbo out there, has really done it. (Four cylinder of course)
With my 3.0, I really can't imagine any lag. It will also be a true twin scroll. Dual up pipes, and dual wastegates. It may actually hurt my top end.. I may play around with the Tial turbine housing late next year to see the difference. probably the obvious: a little less spool, for a little more top end.

It's being tuned. I'll pick it up sometime in June when my schedule opens for four days. I'll drive it home from SLC.

Dave and Garrity (Repta) at Motorsport Inc is doing the tuning. It's raining HARD there now, so not much tuning is getting done.

Al did a group EVO flash session in Phoenix about 8 years ago. Hard to believe he used to practice law. He was a nut, but my EVO was hitting close to 400whp with his flash and custom tune using my bolt on stuff and pump fuel.
