Why is that such a big concern?

Only thing I have worried about is running that big vent up front since I don't have belt covers. Just kinda freaks me out.

The only other possibility I can think of is water running down on the headers while they are still very hot and causing them to crack.

I was thinking about putting the medium sized, standard vents possibly right over the strut towers, and close to the edge of the hood if possible, or basically as far away from the headers and test port while still being symmetrical on both sides. Of course i would paint them to match the car, the only thing is the stainless steel rivets will stand out like a sore thumb i think. This can be remedied by repainting the entire hood with the rivets in place..but i would want to avoid having to repaint the hood if possible..although it could use a repaint! The other downside is i will need to cutout my very good condition silver hood pad.. .
spent a few minutes going through their site...looks cool but im wondering, can you weld stainless steel? in case i didnt want rivets to show through...also, wonder if those vents could be bent to match the hood lines?

Yes but if the vents were punched/pressed inverted I'd say they would work marginally better but don't take that as a 100% guarantee but I will look into it as I'm interested in these.

No water problems for me and I daily drive in all weather. I tend to be careful when washing and not aim the stream down the vents.

These are "Old School" punched hot rod louvers, have somewhat of a lip and water will not just fall in while car is still and when moving.... well water is going away from the vents.

As I understand it, the fish gill louvers create a vacuum and suck out air, no need to invert to divert the air out... lol...kinda sounds funny

Dave, want to do some wind tunnel testing without the tunnel? If You tape some small pieces of yarn on the vents so you can tell us which way the vent are working. Also interested in the nose panel vents.

The nose vents I have ducted so that the stock entrance feeds the lower intercooler and the extra vents feed only the top half of the intercooler, completely sealed from each other.

This is 15 miles from my house, armed guards seem to think I don't need access

Well this thread has inspired me enough that i did some looking and found a couple of hot rod restoration places in the general area that i am going to give a call tomorrow. Hopefully one of them can do the hood louvers. I printed out a picture of David's car for reference to show . Im just not looking forward to removing the hood, or should i say cracking the windshield while removing (or reinstalling) the hood.

Just remember you will need to paint the hood after being stamped.

Mine are 5" long which was the largest this shop had, there is room for a 6"
