Where I'm going it's about 60,000 USD for a Bachelors of Science. (state university)

I certainly can't afford much of anything!

Holy s**t. I work for University of Helsinki, and for 60K$ you could study here about 1000 years... No wonder we have a lot of students from States too.

You mean you have as thin hair as i have I suppose i should put here a picture taken from me in the late '70's when we had a nostalcig '50's boom here. '50's music was number 1 and all american '50's stuff was most popular. Even i did drive a 1957 Bel Air back then

It really depends on the institution. Most of my friends have scholarships to go to colleges within the state (as long as they maintain a certain gradepoint average) which pay most of their tuition.

If you wanted to go to med schol at say... emory university or something... the costs will EASILY eclipse 100k.

2yrs at my school (state university) is ~$40K. You get your private, instrument, commerical, and CFI ratings + AS degree in Aviation Science for that money. If your family doesn't make much money you get ~6K/ year in grants and get $5500 in gov't backed loans.. the rest has to be coughed up by the student

Engineering Degree (Bachelors) at Purdue University (state school) is running me about $14k/year for tuition and housing...I'll be there 5 years when it's all said and done. I pay for about half of it, the other half is in scholarships and grants. So I'll be out about $35k when I graduate. Starting salary for my field is around $50-$60k, so it shouldn't take too long to pay it off.

Seems to me it's quite expensive to have a proper education in the States. We have had a free education some decades now and it surely can be seen. Our population is quite small, (about 5 million) and every spring we got about 40.000 new Collage graduates. Most of these will continue either to universities or have education to some particular profession. Most likely our system has managed quite well also in younger age groups, because we have managed quite well in OECD countries Pisa researsch. In 2003 and the latest research in 2006 we were ranked to the postion #1. next Pisa research will be held during 2009. Btw our junior/senior high school & Collage students get also free meals University students have to pay. At Helsinki University meal cost is currently between 2-3,5€ (daily), depending what you choose to eat.

I wonder why they offer only "old school" solutions. Monoblocks are even cheaper to buy, and their design is far better what comes to pad attachment and move compared to old two piece Brembos. After all Porsche/Ferrari/Maserati/etc have moved to this newer design over 10 years ago.
