GT3 Brakes on 951S

You could easily get away with just doing the fronts. What about changing the m/c though? Not a whole lot of reason (apart from the fact that they look great) to go up in size without changing other components. Might possibly work less than stock.

over kill on the rear but a 951 at 150mph requires at least as much front braks as a GT3 at 150 mph the 951 may be lighter but has effecive 70/30 brake bias front to rear wear as a gt3 has almost 50 /50 due to rear engine . so GT3 brakes are made to stop half a GT3 and you are using them to stop 2/3rds of a 951

Isn't that a contradiction though? If you want more stopping power to the rear then wouldn't you do the rears as well? Anyway you can fit a bias valve I guess. I'm of the same opinion though. If you have a high powered 951 (eg 450whp and upwards) why shouldn't they have the same stopping power as a GT3? We are disadvantaged enough compared to them and their electronic wizardry, we weigh a similar amount, have greater torque and in this case hp, so why not? However their calipers are not connected up to our m/c so perhaps we need to address this aspect too.

No, but on the road my stopping is pretty good. On the track at say 130 mph to 50mph is more of a test repeatedly.

well if you want to upgrade the rear put your fronts back there. but the rears are about 95% the size of the front stopping as i said 30% of the car . simply get a pyrometer and piont it at the brake or even the wheel and see if the rears are getting hot I've worked out to a few ways to do the master cylinder on RHD cars
one is hydralic assist tandum master no real advantage other than real estate for inlets
but the other is balance bar with masters mounted vericly i gues next i need to go balace bare and twin hydralic assist masters vertical . whoo thats a mouthful

It also depends what generation GT3 brakes we are talking about. The early GT3/996tt calipers and rotors will bolt up on late 951's for a cool, if you shop around, $3000 (new)....the sixpot are more , especially the rotors, and need adapters for early cars. One would have to do a lot of re engineering to make them fit on the later 951's.

If I had the money at the moment, I'd do a full PFC kit front and rear.
