I believe Mark is in the very early stages of starting production on the hood, however he has several projects going at the moment so I am sure he will post up some news as soon as he can.

I'm interested in those flush mount fasteners but wonder how they actually work? What are they fastening against or locking into? I assume these could be retro fitted to an existing c/f hood?

I have a brother in law who is a very gifted tool and die maker. If I can get him a set of the pin brackets, I would be willing to bet he could get them fabbed up exactly like original, if there was enough demand for them.

Hi Gents
Yes we are in the early development stages of an exact replica so I will update when I have some pics to post.
Pins are not a problem but the metal pressed brakets are so Scott I'll send you a PM to see if your brother in law can help out as the volume would be far to low for ourselves to entertain the tooling which we would have to outsource anyway as we don't have the facilities for press work currently.
Best regards,
Mark

Hello,
I live in France, own a "944 turbo Cup" (real track car)
but without those special pins to fix the font corners of the hood.
I just discover at the moment this discussion...
and of course I am very very interrested in getting
two (or more if a minimum number is needed for production) "pins"
if some new fabric is making them.
Thanks.
Charles

any news ?
Hello,
I think we are a few persons here in France
who could be interrested by these pieces,
so I may buy a dozen...
if it is not too expensive
and will manage to find people to resell.
Bye.

Charles,
The hood pins are an Alcoa/Fairchild 1/4 turn aircraft fastener. The product line is the 4002 series. There are various styles of the 4002 studs - common slot headed, phillips cross-tip, etc. The folding handle type as used on the Turbo Cup hoods is not a stocked part, its custom order only. Last I checked w/ Alcoa, about a year ago, they require a minimum order of 100 pcs, $62 each.
So you would need to find a lot of Cup owners that want a lot of pins real bad, to make it worthwhile to place an order for a batch.
The recepticles, cups and springs are readily available. For example: https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/gr...upID=HARDCAM40
So probably best to have a machine shop custom make a couple pins w/ the folding handles.

Thanks a lot for your answer.
I went to my secondary house where the car is parked
and it seems the underhood factory style mounting brackets
are not any more in place.
Opened hood, I found a small cornered sheet of steel with a hole (about 10 to 12 mm diameter).
The sheet is fixed just below the hole of the hood.
Hole which seems made to screw an axis there which goes out through the hood
to be fastened with a small pin.
I will have to try to find the best solution :
either finding original mountings, but they are not any more available...
either find a small enough pin to be as "discreet" as possible.
Thanks again for all information.

Mark said they were still planning on producing these hoods when I spoke with him a few weeks ago but they are very backed up with other projects at the moment. Hopefully he will have a minute to chime in.
