Default K26/6 replaced by K26/8 the results..!

Our beloved "Faye" is an '87 UK spec turbo. We had to replace the turbo with a K26/8 as we couldnt get a K26/6. These are the results. The car is totally standard apart from a horrible cone air filter and a hard pipe set. This is one of only 4 rolling roads in Ireland....! Discuss

Am I reading that correctly and they're saying that you've got approx 221 hp at the crank and 159 at the wheels? That's about a 40% loss? Seems a lot...

I think it should be about 10% loss although a 944 Lux was run earlier and showed 157 ay the crank and 102 at the wheels which to me is a brave loss as well ... Maha is the brand of the equipment used and is the only road that VW and Audi endorse (accoring to the lad who ran her...) I'm not too smart as far as graphs and readouts are concerned...!

our cars should use a 10% drivetrain loss ratio, 159 at wheels is not good.

On the graph, it looks like peak boost is just a bit over 0.7 bar. I think it is just stock.

It has to be low due to the extra weight in the trunk. JK

Doesn't BHP mean different things in different countries? I know in the US we use SAE. Or am I completely off base?

Im more confused than ever......! The barrels of water in the "boot" were to give the car a bit of ballast whatever that was to achieve...! Im all tied up with HP, BHP, SAE, kW ... Help....!

my stock n/a was 124 at the rear wheels and the turbo was 219rwhp w/ just a boost controller....im thinking this must be a metric measurement.

10% is very optimistic, most front engine/RWD cars lose about 17%,
Front engine/FWD and rear engine /RWD lose about 12%.

I was always told 15% drivetrain loss for these cars. 158rwhp seems crazy low for a turbo S car on stock boost.
