If I understand correctly Corleone's engine thread, he has seen hotspots even when using Evans coolant.

So you just un hooked the "out" of the turbo pump and re plumbed it to the port at the back of the head?

Can this be done without pulling the head?
That is essence what I did, even though it was after the fact of the pump being inoperable for some time.

I did it with the head off.. I am not sure if you can do it with it on. I have found that using a nice sharp bit and slow speed you can usually keep most metal fragments out of the interior. Using some grease on the tap helps keep those out too. Again though I am not sure room would allow

I'd still like to see where Corleone is running those 4 taps into and if they are 1 way valves. Does this system have any propensity to develop cavitation?

Sid, so just to clarify, do you use the new pump in concert with the old one, or just remove the old one altogether and only use the larger one connected to the rear of the head?

No 1 way taps, just regular AN that is connected together and is going in by a venturilike tap to the metall hose that is going into the cooler.

Try these pictures. One can see the extra expansion tank behind the right strut tower.

Mikael, it looks like the two overflow hoses from each tank are linked together to an exit somewhere behind the left headlight?

IN conjunction with the stock pump, meaning it uses the factory waterpump and uses the stock turbo cooling electric pump to feed coolant to the rear of the head.

Yes, I have them evacuate to a bottle to see if the caps has opened. The bottle fit in a fenderhole... No overspill this far!

Looking at your pictures again it seems to me you installed steam vents at every "peak" of the coolant loop, which is where steam would normally work its way, so not only on the head but also on the aluminium elbow exiting the front top of the head, which I think is the highest point of the coolant loop engine-side?

aaah interesting
a steam vent on the aluminium elbow in front of the head
clever, then you don´t need to vent the cooling system with the screw on the elbow.
This i will put on my to do list in the winter

I just got back from the garage looking at mine and Porsche even made it flat to allow clearance for the stock IC pipe, so drilling it and fit a steam vent should be a piece of cake.

Though the stock coolant tank supposedly remains at the highest point of the cooling system steam would build quicker that it would make its way up to the stock coolant tank whence the need for an extra coolant tank?
Looking at these pictures and trying to spot the details and understand this exotic set up is fun!

We have been running an extra 'bottle' in the front left guard for some time. Often our Winters are pretty mild down here (which is when we hit the track) so just having that 2nd expansion tank works a treat in most cases.

Sid that made me wonder if you're not somehow interrupting the normal flow by introducing a secondary pump?

Another important thing is about the ignition, the first to do when running E85 is to use Nippondenso like their IW22 or if cost isnt the problem IK0127.

I wouldnt run this fuel with stock coil either, at least try a MSD Blaster coil.

Of course best is to use a new separat system like MSD DIS4 Plus, this is the one I use and the sparks is almost a foot long...
