Lol Thom. Corleone has clearly pushed the boundary. I think what is difficult for the rest of us is that it's mostly theoretical.

Mmmmm ok, im debating doing it on my cylinder head but since I dont use water based coolant (Evans waterless) I am torn between doing all four like you have or just the one at the back since thats apparently closer to the headgasket.

Its about to even out the cylinder pressure if you want to hold the engine together. There some other tricks to with the ign curve also.
would you be willing to share your ignition values?

Yes, here is an example for the 1.2 bar (17.5 psi) line. Revs and degrees... Max rev for my engine is 7800 rpm

There you have it folks. +39.5 degrees advance at 7800rpm. Now I want all of you out there to go and do the same.

NOT...don't listen to me. Just kidding.

Thanks Corleone for sharing.

What happens instead of dealing with the symptoms by making all your 'vents', you just restricted the heat or block so much that the cylinders can't move? How about welding the head / block together like the factory did? Of course that's not practical...but there might be other ways to limit headlift and cylinder movement.

Well thats why you have to stop at 600 rwhp with our engines... if it has been a BMW you have had 50% more hp, at least.

I have Darton sleeves but our blocks isnt the best to deal with cylindermovements and not the distance between the studs either so we need to be happy at this powerlevel.

600whp is a lot for sure. Obviously for many other cars it's a low power figure by comparison but in one of these with sorted suspension and brakes that's a lot of hp. Not that I've ever had that much yet.

Corleone,
What RPM do you hit peak torque?

Corleone posted pics earlier - it is an 8V head.
