Haha, yes, we can make a metal hero badge for Van from my old clutch (which miraculously seems to have fixed itself recently...). All we need to do is weld some chains to it so he can wear it around his neck.
I found a OEM thermostat at Autozone of all places...

yeah, sorry I couldn't make it guys. Was dead after work (and counting the seconds until I leave today) and can't really drive my 951 at the moment. I think today I will try drilling out the broken stud ![crying](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigcry.gif)
who made it and how'd it go?

We did it. It was a late night, though.
Nick came by and we got started about 10:30. Took the exhaust out first:

Slid the transmission coupler back:

Voodoo showed up, so we put him to work removing the transmission:

Rotated the torque tube 90 degrees and slid it back:

This gave us room to access the bell housing:

Then we got down to the pressure plate:

The tops of most of the pressure plate bolts had been "ground down" by foreign matter... A few came out like they were supposed to - but the rest had to be drilled out:

And finally we got the offending clutch out (note broken springs):

We finished a little after midnight and got Nick on his way home!
So, it took us about 12 hours of working time. (With plenty of BS-ing along the way.)

Van and Voodoo were awesome and it was finished in record time (considering all the studs that needed drilled out!)
Looking back, the hardest thing was re-attaching the grounds on top of the bellhousing, that was quite a challenge until we broke down and took the heater valve off.
Van,
The car feels so much better after tightening the front wheel bearings. Again, thank you so much for helping out.
Voodoo,
Yeah it was late, after dinner though we weren't in much of a hurry, partly due to a bit of wine
I rocketed down the taconic pkwy and 84 and got home around 2AM. Let me know if you need help wrenching on your future 500 whp beast.
