Book is around 18 on a turbo, 20 if you have a 1 piece crossover pipe. NA is about 11. You only need about 5 either way.

So, looks like we're going to tackle this job on Nov. 1.

If anyone in the Hudson Valley wants to help out / hang out, let me know! The more the merrier (we have to lift a transmission, you know...)

Well, so far, the clutch throwout bearing has arrived from Paragon. Should receive the rest on Tuesday!

Fantastic! I almost bought a "spare" aluminum flywheel today at Rick DeMan's... but didn't really think we'd need it.

Rick didn't have a head gasket set... he did have some stock 944 head gaskets, though. I did pick up an oil pan gasket.

He also had 2 NA 8 valve heads. And a used aluminum 944 flywheel.

Give him a call. I doubt those things sold, so you could arrange a time to meet him there.

I got a bunch of parts for my 914 plus a partial 944 exhaust that I'll be able to use to repair mine.

The amount of stuff Rick had was amazing. Heaven if you were rebuilding an air-cooled 911!

I got there at 10:30. I wanted to get the good deals!

He really had a lot of stuff! It would have been easy to drop a grand or two...

I didn't get the flywheel. The price was $50 - a pretty good price, although it was used (perhaps a few times... two of the threaded holes had stripped and were fixed with a time-sert - not a bad thing, but it had never been rebalanced.)

He has a bunch of 930 wastegates and a variety of turbos in a variety of conditions.

Voodoo, did you do the Cliffs of Insanity run? I crossed the Bear Mt. this morning and it was beautiful!

no i never ended up going. It rained the night before and we were going too run our twin Turbo GTO. Leaves + wet roads means no traction and in the cold. that car dosent get traction so we just decided too skip it. It was suppose too be great though!
