doesn't matter it's freakin beautiful.

I am curious though why the torque is falling off so much. It almost looks like the turbo is too small. I don't know what the vitesse stuff is.

Or what do YOU think is causing the top end to come down. I thought it would be close to George's with the HP coming on real good up top. You mentioned breathing upthread

It's not the turbo -- I kept it at 22psi, but it had plenty more to give. My motor was dyno'd with the stock intake manifold, stock i/c pipes, stock i/c, stock TB, stock headers and stock cross-over, not to mention the stock cap and rotor! If you compare those parts on George's car, you will see why I mention the breathing! I suspect a stronger ignition and some tuning to the a/f and timing will help on the top end. If I added a SFR intake and stage 2 headers, I suspect I'd be quite close to George, except with 1 bar boost at 3k (if I could get the dyno guy to start at 2500 or so...). This was a baseline -- stay tuned for things to come!

I will be very interested to see what comes of the individual modifications as I too am running the stock pipes, IC, and Intake and TB. I gather you feel the restrictions are causing the bottleneck or the stock IC ?
edit: scratch that ,re-read the other post

I was going to get to the dyno and swap out some of the parts and make multiple runs but I have just decided to do it all on the other car as it would be very time consuming.

I hope I am not coming off as negative, I am just analyzing

Tom,
Had me going with that stock engine compartment picture..LOL
Good numbers , nothing like having an unrestricted turbo car , Huh !

Awesome dyno Tom! The Torque is where it's at. You realize, with that tq, you'll outpull quite a few supercars. I know this for a fact. Enjoy!

That is closer to the torque I predicted, Tom.
If you start the run at 2500, It will probably goover 500 foot pounds.
Looks good.

Tom, it's looking good. Your car must be fun to drive, with power on demand . This is a great start, you did a great job with the engine.
Some minor changes and you will notice even better results, I'll email you with the details.

Great results Tom!
That is quite a lot of boost for that power level, especially with race fuel.
As you say, better breathing will make wonders!

Excellent numbers Tom. What boost do you plan to run it at normally?
I would be nervous running 22psi. Too afraid to blow something up.

As others have already stated NICE numbers!

Do you think starting the dyno at such a high rpm has a negitive effect on your hp/tq numbers? Either way for a out of the box tune and stock everything 450whp is very nice.

Get a final tune done add some headers/larger TB/intake/new ignition and you might be able to make that power level on 18psi. Which is a personal goal of mine. To reach the most hp with 18psi that I can.

Get some vids of her up when you get a chance. We are all dying to see it. Great job!

Yes, if nothing else we'd see more area under the curve if it were started lower in the rpm range. I posted a week or so a data log showing 14.5psi at 3k rpm. I have to believe the peak Torque number would go up with no other changes if the test were started closer to 2500.

It's a long-term evolution thing for me (starting in 1999 when I struggled to install APE chips) so I'll just keep working on it over time.

Not to step on anyone's feet, as if I would ever dare do so , but I like to keep it real...

It needs about 10 degrees timing advance in the upper RPMs to keep the torque level flat, that is the reason it drops off. It's not the turbo, it's the last few cells in the timing table. The 3.0 liter's timing is quite different from the 2.5's. It's not rocket science, and I'm just saying.

Great numbers though. I'm sure it's a blast around town, clean engine bay as well.
