Default ENGINE CLICKS

Since day 1 with this 951....

My engine makes a constant clicking noise. The clicking increases in speed and sound when I pull on the throttle cable. I can't hear it inside the car when I drive.

I drove by my brother and he said, "I can hear this clicking noise that increases with your RPMs."

I will try to get a video up today.

It's probably just engine noise. My engine clicks and I asked here, too.

From your thread, we are hearing the exact same noise. I shoulden't be worried or anything?

Thanks for your valued insight.

Off to boosting!

I keep an eye on everything when driving and pay attention for changes. Just do the same (don't be paranoid) and enjoy the car.

Its most likely your lifters in the crank case....wouldn't worry about it.

One more thing that you may want to look for is an exhaust leak. It often sounds like it is coming out of the engine compartment especially if it is near the headers.

Lifters in the crank case?

Good note on the exhaust leaks, didn't think about that!

I have an exhaust leak, and hear the same thing. Just keep an eye on things and you'll be fine.

Some injectors make a loud clicking as well. Get a mechanic stethoscope for a buck and touch different areas of the engine (injectors, etc.) to find out.

Agree on the injectors. They can be noisy. My engine makes the same noises, I have always attributed it to the injectors.

Thanks for all the excellent information! I can rest easier now.

Just curious, how bad is an exhaust leak for an engine?
