Scariest day of my life (while owning my 951)
So...
I was driving a friend back home today and he asked me to get on it so he could get a feel for how fast my car was. I did (only in second gear as it was a 55mph zone and I was just turning on to the street) and when I hit 15psi I heard this god awful sound like something broke (kinda like a VERY loud woosh of a blowoff valve)...then the car would barely run if I was giving it gas and would die if I let it drop to idle! I put my hazards on and pulled off the road, popped the hood, and what do I find? Somehow my turbo -> intercooler pipe had popped out of the rubber boot connecting it to the intercooler! No idea how/why seeing as I just replaced the boots and the clamp had just been cleaned and was tight (or so I thought)...
I had thought for sure that I blew something...and was incredibly happy when I found out what had happened.
I re-secured the pipe and did a small sprint to about 60, hitting 15psi in 2nd and it's fine now...talk about an "oh $h!t" reaction!
Just wanted to share my experience...

I did the same thing the end of last year, just before putting the car away for the winter. Only difference was it took me much longer to figure out what I had done.

Happened to me twice before and the first time my reaction was exactly the same! Plus I was already thinking where to get the engine rebuilt...
When it happened again about a week after, it was just a matter of popping the bonnet and boot, to get the tools out and secure the hose, almost like it was a non event.

not sure, just got on it and heard an awful sound and no power...I had forgotten to tighten my J boot after I cleaned my cone k&n filter....removed too much plumbing to get it back on

Happens to me once every few months.
Age of the rubber couplings, my turbo or engine blows some oil into the intake track so thats not good, and heat after a long hot drive.

And me when I still had the flapper. 18lbs. Didn't have one of the clamps tightened very well. - will just run fine after blowing hose now that I have speed density though. : )

Done that a few times, solved it with silicone and t-bolt clamps. Most memorable time was lining up next to a M3 at a light by chance, we both hit it and my car makes a loud noise when getting on boost in 2nd and dies, lol. Never saw him again to make up for it
