Srsly! No, I didnt mean it like that I joked with the owner of one of the Group C nissan's that was there about needing a "spare" driver as their main guy was feeling a bit under the weather and wasnt sure if he was going to go out or not.

Unfortunately, any of my 951 expenditure comes out of the money I get paid through semi-pro football (soccer)...and a) my club is being taken over so I haven't been paid since December and b) it's the off season so I am not seeing the management to beg them for it! Plans are afoot for new wheels (to get rid of my rubbing problem), then lightweight seats, half-cage and KWV3 - hopefully all by the end of next season! Then I'll be ready to hit the track and will be saving up for an LS2 conversion I reckon!

Default George D's engine bay

We are getting the TEC GT tuned today. Hopefully at the dyno this afternoon. Here is a shot of the engine bay.

Looking forward to seeing some nice results there George. Engine bay is looking sparkling! What's that hanging off the i/c inlet pipe though?

Compliments George, must be one of the nicest engine 944 engine bays.

Q: I have never seen a BOV ( I think it is a Synaps unit?) mounted on that intercooler pipe? Or does it only look that way?

It looks like there isn't enough room on the other pipe.

I have a Greddy unit mounted in about the same place

I would show some pics but compared to George and others I am very embarrassed at my lack of detail

Synaps unit. We mounted it there as it doesn't matter where you mount it. We Wanted it to be as far away from the TB as possible when we were using a blow through MAF. Went to stand alone and just left the BOV where it is.

Tim just called. On a tuning dyno we couldn't get over 15psi boost. It was hot as hell and Tim did 4 back to back pulls. Car hit 392.5hp at one bar for four runs. He is now changing out the spring in the wastegate, as it's too weak to hold anything above 15lbs. This is a tuning dyno, not a dyno jet, so the readings are off by about 15% as compared to a Dynojet.

We'll get back to the dyno tomorrow with a stronger spring in the wastegate. We think that the spring is allowing boost to leak way too early. We aren't getting full boost till 4500, and Tim thinks it's because of the weak spring. Tim will mess with the timing and with the stronger spring, hopefully we'll see full boost by 4K.

Looks like we'll have what I wanted. 450whp and tq at one bar on 91 fuel. The motor is running very cool, and the intercooler is working great.

By the way, SFR's oil cooler mounted in the stock intercooler location added about two quarts to my car's oil capacity.

We'll keep you posted. I won't post a dyno chart till we get the wastegate spring taken care of and finish up the tuning. Hopefully we'll have something tomorrow. I'd like to get things done in the early AM, as it hot as hell out here.

We will be back on the dyno with Georges car tomorrow morning. It should produce some impressive results on pure 91 octane pump gas(and then we'll turn it up and run some race gas).I had a chance to run it at 18 psi on the street a little while ago and just about pooped my pants.LOL. His chasis is twisting though, it forced the passenger side of the rear hatch to open, the motor is moving so much when you are on it, the throttlecam hit the strut tower bar which is about 1" away from it.

Here´s my 1991 944 turbo project.
Car is black, with grey interior, lsd tranny with oil cooler, 968m030 suspension.

Could be one of the most derailed "while I´m in there projects" as this just started with pulling the head on my 2.5... Scored cylinders...Then I went over all the receipts I had from the PO, and things didn´t really match...
I can´t stand not knowing/being able to trust whats been done so I figured the only way to go was rebuilding everything. Great learning process. Luckily, Duke lives not far from here when I get stuck, so thanks again Duke.

Currently waiting for the engine: 8v 3.1L MID sleeve, Wossner pistons & Rods, Dry sump, Fidanza flywheel, Cometic HG, GT35r, piston squirters added (S2 block that I got from lart of all people, I had no clue at that time who he was, or about rennlist for that matter), SFR stII headers, SFR intake mani, lightened crank, Milledge cam, turbo head with some work done to it, bigger radiator w oil cooler. And more.. Built by Chris White.

So while the engine is getting built I´ve sourced some parts here, CF hood, FG front fenders, FG front, tial wg and bov, link g4 storm ems, tarret sway bar, big intercooler, elephant solid rear suspension bushings, BBS LM 9x18/11x18, Toyo 888 tires 265/295, Big reds, CEp fuel rail, solid engine mounts from Olli´s friends, new bigger fuel lines, fuelab fuel pump, 1200cc injectors, can´t remember everything.

Next on the to do list: New suspension, probably Intrax, paintjob and stripping the interior. New seats of course. Maybe next year, things seem to take double the time and 4x the money before they are done.

Started out as a mostly street car, but seems to go in a more race oriented direction. Swedish DMV, please be gentle!
