Are you doing the install yourself and just having someone tune it??? Or is the shop installing the stand alone as well?

You suck.

I would have bought that one.

Great deal without options! Is the harness terminated already? Or is it a flying loom? Are the advanced tuning and data logging turned on? How old is the unit? and Did it originate (Sell from ) Motec USA or Australia?

Thats a hell of a sweet deal.

Got it from a friend who bought it new. He went AEM with his car. He bought it for his Datsun 240Z. He sold that project and is now sticking to his NSX project.

Unlocks and Loom and terminating kit are right at $1000 plus what I paid for the unit.

Damn. Im sorry. I got that all screwd up!

He didn't go AEM with his Datsun. Hewent AEM with his NSX. Its cheaper than MOTEC for the COIL on Plug system. And it was a true plug and play with no wiring involved. - NSX. Two very big reasons why he went AEM for the NSX. But yeah, I screwed that up. AEM on the NSX ... Got totally rid of the 240 project.

I don't know the age of the unit but I believe it was bought from Motec USA. The harness is already terminated. It was being used for a very short time in a turbocharged Honda before I bought it. I believe it has both advanced tuning and datalogging enabled but I will have to check with Motec to make sure before selling. The harness is in almost new condition. I was going to use it in my 951 before I bought the 968 Turbo.

I also have a supercharged NSX and even though I have a spare Motec I went and bought the AEM system for it. I believe the Motec is a superior piece however the plug and play of the AEM for the NSX was appealing. The fact that several of the major NSX tuners support the AEM system was important to consider as well.

Don't mind at all!

Here's some more pics. I'm glad I got a new Flying loom, But the first pic sure doesn't look like $480 worth of harness, or 3 hours of work just to get it into a few different spools. But, it is now completely labeled and compartmentalized for install. From left to right wiring Circles.
1. Fuses / Power /relay
2. Unused for now to be stored (can't un-pin most of these)
3. Map sensor and Ignition wires for inside cabin.
4. Engine Compartment / harness

Second pic was tonights project. ...Making a holder for the Motec and placing relays and Fuses. Antoher 3 hours just for this.

I can't shrink wrap this harness yet as I have to Add more here and there. Wheel speed later. Lambda soon, a couple wires for ECU map changes. maybe control Fan relay. I will probably wrap it in cheap conduit until I am comfortable that all the options I'm going to use are finished. Then I can Officially Ray-chem this guy when that happens for a complete product and no added wires hanging about.

A guy on the web makes some beautiful aluminum mounts for the Motec. I bought a couple of them for my cars. I'll see if I can find his info again.
