Well done. I like the mix of new cars versus old.

Never had I heard such a crock of **** in my life.

AA - You need some serious help in your fact checking department.

I, of course, am going to immediately contact Woody Weiss and the Lockton Brothers.(The TRUE builder of this car) Who will be very intrested in this article.

It was easy to build?????????
What an insult

Oh course it was easy to build, all you needed was a pen and ink.

There is enough BullSh!t on the RL already, I aint putting up with this.

You know you're beautiful when you're angry.
Seriously, I'd like to know the truth on this one too...?

Kevin,

Obviously these are pictures of it being built, there is no way it was built from scratch in the IMA shop. I know of the previous owner/builders and have seen it race at LRP in the last 10 years. If the pictures and build sheet were in a binder, those were used, by the Lockton Brothers, to confim they were staying within PCA GT3 rules.

I'm not saying they haven't modified it rather than, they did NOT build it from scratch. That means the motor developement, bodywork, chassis, centerlocks, uprights, header, turbo and transmission.

The only thing different, that is noted, is they switched from a Motec m48 to an M880 and changed from 17" wheels to 18" wheels.

The real builders have been notified. Perhaps they will chime in.

Wasn't this car up for sale a while back within six months or so?

I contacted Ivan at IMA. For whatever reason it was not discussed that the car was inially built by Woody Weiss. IMA did buy it from Woody Weiss and the Lockton Brothers.

Why this was not revealed earlier, we do not know. No mallace was intended by IMA.

We are working on redoing the article to reflect this realization.

Do you have to subscribe every time there is a new issue? I was subscribed after the last issue but do not see a "log in" page?

Kevin, this car was in fact one of two of the 951's that Woodie Weiss had campaigned. One was sold to a guy that owned(s) Northeast Towers (last name Savino). This was the last car that my former boss got rid off, I was his private chef for almost 10 years and saw this car being built from scratch. I still have pictures of this car in developement. World Wide Motorsports was the name of the shop that the car came out of, in it's hey day there were 3 builders on staff just for running his 951's. Jason Lockton, Jim Lockton and John Putteti made an amazing car that still holds track records at LRP. This car was sold more then a year ago, it was on Ebay, but was sold privately to the current owners. I was still working for Woodie Weiss until November of this year, and still talk with him weekly. It was a pleasure to watch this car being built by the truely gifted Lockton brothers, and Woodie will still say to this day that his old 951 would have been competitive in a pro circuit with a pro driver. I contacted both Lockton brothers (Jason I still work with) hopefully they can set this straight and answer any questions. Maybe Woodie will even jump on board, but rarely likes to be bothered with forums....
