Questons -- What is this shim? I don't see it in the catalog. Is it the "damping plate"? Do I need it and where can I get it? All I see are expensive titanium plates on pelican and paragon.

And for the puck, should I glue (or 3m double sided tape per the manual) this to the new pad before slipping it in? (This post indicates keeping the puck is a good idea for squeal.)
New pucks should come with the transfer tape installed. Good luck trying to source it from 3M! I reused my pucks and used high-temp loctite gasket compound, seemed to work good enough.

Thanks -- you are right, that stuff should be easier to find and good up past 600 F.
