Default Wheels for an 86?

I am considering geting new and larger wheels to facilitate a future brake upgrade. I know that options are limited with the 86's, but spacers can make fitment of more wheels possible.

Does anyone have any wheels for sale currently?
What range of wheel sizes and offsets can I put on the car, and what combination of spacers would I need?

Any help in clarifying this cloudy subject is appreciated.

Options are limited on an '86?

Quite the opposite. You have "early offset" which means with the proper spacers you can run a huge selection of Geniune Porsche and Aftermarket Wheels. This includes the choice of the era Fuchs Wheel, to the most current wheels.

OK then. Seems that what I've read on here is not exactly accurate then.

Is it possible to run:
1. BBS LM 17 x 7.5 (+25mm) front and 17x9 (+17mm) rear
2. Turbo II's hollow spokes 18"x8" et 50 front and 18"x11" et 45 rear
3. Fikse FM10 (not sure of the dimensions, but this is my #1 choice)

I have 17X10 and 17X9 CCW wheels with kumo victorraces I am looking to unload in the NY area. If you want to make the trip to westchester I want $1400 for the set.
No close ups but they are similar to the wheels in my avitar.

+1, with early offset you have more options, not less. What a lot of people seem to miss is that the unsprung weight is also better on early offset, as well as having lighter control arms, the wheel centers are closer to cg so offer less weight leverage. I think the wheels designed for the early offset also look better as they have a wider outer rim to "fill-out" the wells.

If you are buying the Fikse, my favorite choice, they will build them to any offset/dimension you like and you won't require any spacers.

get some 24's yet they probably won't fit without a lift kit.
I was thinking of getting some offroading/ mud tires for the winter.

My friend has an 17 inch turbo twists on his '86 that he may be wanting to sell. I think he is looking for Fuchs up in Hershey tomorrow and if he finds them he said he will sell his wheels. They are correctly sized for the offset and do NOT use spacers. PM if interested and I'll let him know. We are in Pittsburgh so meeting halfway to Baltimore wouldn't be a problem.

Is he looking for for 15" or 16" fuchs? I have 15x7/8s I'm trying to get rid of.. I'm assuming 16 since this is the turbo forum..
