So can I put the axles in my Kelvinator and save some money? lol.....ish.....
I wonder if there's a Metallurgist who could verify this?

The Cryo process works , again we have not had any luck with 951 axles stock. modified or after market that would stand up to launch control starts...

After trying all of the above i would just cryo the stock axles and service regularly.
If launch control starts are your thing , i would try and go to 930 axles., if just for the track cryo is all you would need....

The Hewland setup is fantastic and very expensive , more involved than just a tranny swap ..........

so A wayne is your comments based on set ups you've seen after the transaxle movement has been addressed?
what involved in getting 930 ones in ? are the ends the same ?

I heard some where of all the half shafts that look the same 944/930 bmw m3 bm 5 series / audi Ferarri there is only a hand full of different ones .

so if that means just 4 different ends and many lengths or only a few lengths I don't know

No I'm not interested in repeated traffic light launches or even the dragstrip. Just the track, but you said the cryo stock axles are good for 400lb/tq. What about over that figure, say more into the mid 5's?

Is it true that the 968 box shares many internal components to the G50?

You really can't say something is good for 400 lb/tq period.
There's a huge difference launching at a super sticky dragstip w/slicks to roadracing or whatever else.
I'm thinking that rating is not for dragracing as only a fool would dragrace these cars, like myself.

Oh for sure. Mr A W is not that kind and I'm sure it's just an average overview. Still I don't really want to find out that they can't handle over 500ft/lbs coming out of a slow corner in 2nd and planting it. Guess traction will come into it too, but I'm going up to at least Hoosiers if not slicks.

I'm pretty damn confident that stabilizing the tranny almost elimnates any axle breakage problems. I have been beating the hell out of mine with no issues.

Not sure what you mean ?

I said if your are road racing , the stock axles cryoed and service regularly are good for over 400- 500 ft/tq no problem . For launch control starts you might have issues , as we have and then i would suggest stronger axles....

I have a contact to a shop which fabricates axles to rally/track/drag race cars. They have done it from 1958. Most likely i can have axles for less money 951 axles cost. They can do all axles if they just have a sample.
