New improved GTS headlight kit in the pipeline

Mark and Beni, I know you guys have already poured a lot of time and effort into this and other parts of your new venture. As you know I have been trying to purchase a set of these lights for some time and while the wait is frustrating (something I'm quite used to however), I know the result will be well worth it. Good to see that you haven't settled for the 'Close enough, is good enough' option. Can't wait to see/have the finished package and install it on my car. I will probably be purchasing a few kits for the various cars we have down here so long as they're as good as they promise to be.
Best of luck with it all.

It begs the question why we can't all have a single currency denomination.
Thanks Patrick - Yes you are right that we could have been more productive than we have over the last few weeks but this has been down to the website which unfortunately I'm to blame for (not Beni)
Olli – Mate, there seems to be a split opinion between everyone on what is the best way forwards regarding the lighting units. I guess this comes down to personal preferences. Personally I like everything to look as OEM as possible i.e. I’m into an as ‘stock’ look as possible but that’s me and you are very right that there are indeed many better performing light units available on the market and that was why I designed the dual headlight conversion seen in my aviator which offers incredible light performance and I think is sympathetic to the design of our cars – 3 years on and I’ve never had a problem with mine! The GTS style is basically what it says on the tin – To replicate and improve upon what Porsche created back in the last 70’s / early eighties and is designed mainly for the race and track users.
If the interest is there though we can certainly investigate using dual round light units but to be honest the Hell Projectors that I use on my Dual setup are very expensive but they can be supplied directly from Hella as HID units.
Here are the exact ones (as supplied by Susquehanna) which we get direct from Hella:
If anybody knows of any other options which DO NOT feature any silver surrounds or stick out like Crab Eyes then please lets us all know.
Here is another option in the form of the Hella Micro DE Driving Lights:
I can’t comment on the performance of the above though as I’ve never seen them in use but they are very small!
Maybe we should have a Poll on dual round verses rectangluar (But rectangluar gets my vote every time)

LOL - All who know me, know my thoughts on the car I just purchased and it's going soon - That's a promise (I've had nothing but problems which only previous RX7 FD3S ownership supersedes – BY A LONG SHOT).
Only wish Porsche would develop another transaxle car ASAP, but I do like the Cayman even if it does look odd from the rear and rear three quarter view

just remember stuff needs to be carry the "E" mark here in europe, most hella stuff has it though I guess, we can't get xenon approved here unless you have an auto adjustment system linked to your front and rear axle :|

Hey Mark, don't take what I said as a slight on you guys. Quite the opposite. I think it's unbelievable that someone is going to such trouble to create or continue to make new parts for our cars. More power to you!
As for the stock v's dual lights. Well my feeling is that I'm not trying to create a winning concourse original so I'm for modernity. I like something in the vein of the CGT twin lights and perhaps we should have a straw poll just to see what the general feeling is? Nothing is worth doing unless you can make enough to profit from this. Nobody should begrudge this. Perhaps the rear section of the bucket could be modular. One with the single rectangular original lights and another that has twin HID's or the like. Anyway just a thought...

DFASTEST951 – The HID kits supplied by ultrabrightlights.com (McCulloch) are very good and the 5000K Conversion Kit will fit our new light kit and for $140 USD would prove to be a great street upgrade.
I will purchase a set of these and test them out to make sure that the extra heat build-up inside the buckets will not affect the Lexan covers. This should not be an issue even though we are now going to be using 2mm gauge Lexan over 3mm as per the old kit – Again purely to save weight BUT more importantly to allow us to manufacture the covers perfectly following the lines of the oem steal lids.
Here is a great link I found demonstrating the light displacement from a HID conversion, it’s very impressive but this is not an option any track/race projects will require: http://www.houseofthud.com/cartech/hids/hids-final.html

For the poll: Dual Hellas, ordinary halogen with parking lights at high beams. ( = no extra hassle at yearly MOT )

previous owner of that car had a slight accident in the Finnish "Ring"; Ahvenisto racetrack. Car was damaged in front & rearend and the fenders (rear & front).
He sold the car to Jyrki who converted it to 924 GTS look-a-like. There is even 16" fuchs wheels with 951S front calipers... Jyrki made this car for his wife. It's her daily driver during summertime. That rear GTS badge is the copy of the original item made by Jyrki. he made it from aluminum. Here's few additional pictures
